The marriage of Ferdinand II, King of Aragon, and Isabella, Queen of Castile, in 1469, did unify the Christian Spain under the same crown. It followed this arrangement that Spain became a super European state strong on land and in the sea. The new monarchy scored, in 1492, great success. Granada, the last Moslem State, in Al Andalusia, fell to the new Monarchy. The same year witnessed the departure of Christopher Columbus sailed in Atlantic sea heading westward to reach India, where sources of trade where in the hands of Moslem merchants crossing Moslem territories towards Europe. With the advent of 16th century, stimulated by strategic and religious motives, the Spaniards started their occupation of Middle Maghreb with the aim to subdue piracy. The disintegration and weakness of the region helped them to materialize their aim.

This is what the writer tries to show at the end of his study.
The present research aims at studying the impact, which the US Occupation of Iraq has left on the children's social life and violation of their rights, through a field research study of a sample of Iraqi Refugee children and their families, curren tly staying in Damascus. The study is divided into five main parts, where the first part deals with the War on Iraq, its threats to children, pointing out the number of the refugees throughout the Syrian Governorates, and explaining the demographic, health and educational conditions of those children. The second part deals with the basic patterns of the research; explaining the importance of the research, its goals, enquiries and the patterned measures adopted, while defining the original community, the research sample, and the method adopted. The third part deals with a number of Arab and Foreign studies, pointing out the position of this research in relation to these studies. As for the fourth part, it brings in an analysis of the US Occupation^ impact on the Iraqi children, who are now refugees in Syria, as the fifth part reviews the basic results reached and all enquiries related.

Research in NLP is often supported by experimental results, and improved reporting of such results can lead to better understanding and more reproducible science. In this paper we analyze three statistical estimators for expected validation performan ce, a tool used for reporting performance (e.g., accuracy) as a function of computational budget (e.g., number of hyperparameter tuning experiments). Where previous work analyzing such estimators focused on the bias, we also examine the variance and mean squared error (MSE). In both synthetic and realistic scenarios, we evaluate three estimators and find the unbiased estimator has the highest variance, and the estimator with the smallest variance has the largest bias; the estimator with the smallest MSE strikes a balance between bias and variance, displaying a classic bias-variance tradeoff. We use expected validation performance to compare between different models, and analyze how frequently each estimator leads to drawing incorrect conclusions about which of two models performs best. We find that the two biased estimators lead to the fewest incorrect conclusions, which hints at the importance of minimizing variance and MSE.
