Some species of the Syrian Flora were waned, other were extincted. therefore, it was so nessesary to make a releve for restrict and classify the survival species in order to put them under conserving & improvement genetic program. The aim of this research was to study the plant diversity in West Homs; one of important basaltic region in Syria, and to concentrate on the wild legumes and the Rhizobium strains which cohabit with. A plant survey was carried out showed the existence of 365 species belong to 202 genera and 51 families, 15 species are endemic.12 species not observed previously in Syria but are found in Lebanon were recorded,in addition another 3 species not listed at all neither in Syria nor in Lebanon were mentioned. The geobotanical attributes and the economical importance of the gathered species were determined.as so as systematic keys of the most important families were suggested...The root nodules of 10 species belong to 10 genera of wild legumes were studied. Rhizobium strains were isolated and cultured in vitro. The morphologic characters were studied microscopy. The pure strains were reserved by refrigerator.

Enterobacter sakazakii is considered an opportunistic pathogen that has been associated with severe lethal infections especially in neonates, elderly, and Immunocompromised adults. E. sakazakii is a Gram negative, facultative anaerobes rod-shaped bacterium. It belongs to the family Enterobacteriaceae and genus Enterobacter. Although we don’t know the natural habitat of this bacteria we find that it exists in high rate in herbs and spices which indicates that plant may be this natural habitat.
Study of basaltic rocks in the Rastan region showed the presence of many morphological and petrographic varieties compatible with rocks of Alhesen castle region. Chemical analyses of studied rocks proved to be alkaline rocks with sodic-potassic na ture. Rotten parts of studied rocks considered an important source of civilian installations, paving roads, and as materials for manufacture of cement, in addition to their academic importance in Petrological, paleogeographic, and tectonic studies.
The aim of this study is to use the measured values of the magnetic susceptibility in the classification of the basaltic rocks and their different differentiation degrees as an additional discrimination factor to the geochemical analyses, which we re applied on the basalts of southern and southeastern Syria. So the magnetic susceptibility of ٢٠٤ specimens sampled from all the ٧ basaltic groups in Qasr Shbeeka area in addition to ٦٢ specimens sampled from three groups from outside the studied area were measured. This led to the determination of all the magnetic susceptibility ranges, their mean values and their standard deviation of the basaltic rocks in the area.
This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Science laboratories to isolate lactic acid bacteria from some Syrian milk products (milk, yogurt, cheese) and determine some morphological, physiological characteristic and the ability of these isolates to ferment sugars.
