The availability of appropriately sized green spaces within cities has become a necessity. Persistent urban expansion together with the aggravating problems of environmental, visual and noise pollution are behind this. If planning policies ignore allocating adequate green regions, modern cities will even turn into a concrete jungle after decades of expansion. The thing, which results in a very high rate of carbon and very high temperature exceeding the limits. Green roofs emerge as the most suitable, the least expensive and technically the easiest solution to adapt green spaces because of the extremely expensive cost of redistributing or enlarging green spaces inside cities. This research inspects the concept of green roofs tackling its applications and various benefits, the environmental, economic, social and aesthetic ones. The research case studies some green roofs’ implementations in western cities on both public and private buildings. At the end, the research derives some propositions possible to apply to the Syrian cities under the surrounding conditions.
The aim of the study is to determine the concentration of some heavy metals in some imported tattoo inks (black and colored). Sold in Homs, Tartous, Ybroud and DeirAtieh, and assess whether tattoo inks comply with maximum concentrations of heavy m etals in the EPA’s guid line -2012 and find out the relation of colours by Ni, Cu, Pb, Cd and Cr contents. 18 Samples of tattoo inks purchased from different sources. 5 Samples black, 4 samples green, 5 samples red, 2 samples brown,1 sample white and 1 sample oily. This samples reveals that the concentration of heavy metals previously mentioned very high and varies depending on the source of the tattoo ink. These concentrations above the maximum limits according to the EPA’s-2012 quid line. This study reveals also that the type of pigment used in tattoo inks contributes to its heavy metal content. The use of tattoo inks could result increase in the heavy metal level in human body which could lead to health problems.
It wasdetected for the ability of a local fungus A.niger, A.alternata, F.oxysporum, F.solaniandP.devirsum to produce the enzyme lipase in solidmedium including Triputyrin. The enzymic activity of P.devirsum fungus is distinction from other fungus, while the fungus A.alternata failed to produce the lipase. Then they tested quantitatively using a liquid center to determine the best conditions for best growth to fungus P.devirsum and for best produce to enzyme lipase. It indicates that corn oil is the best carbonic source for growth of fungus after 5 days of incubation, as biomass reached(15.99g/L) and effective of lipase (67.43%).And it found that the concentration of 2% of the corn oil has achieved best biomass (17.83g/L) and best production of enzyme lipase effectively(72.78%). Temperature 34 c achieved the highest biomass (18.94g/L) and best production of enzyme lipase (76.16%), and pH =7 was the best for the growth of fungus in biomass reached (21.87g/L) and production of lipase effectively (82.93%). While the nitrogenic source gave peptone biggest value to biomass (27.08 g/L) and highest production for enzyme (88.12%) in optimal conditions reached.
This paper analyzes the position and role of the mosque as a factor in the formation, transformation and development of Muslim–inhabited cities, from many neighborhoods to the entire city, and shows proof linking mosque structure with the structure of a city and of neighborhoods, while having the moral and material dimensions. In this regard, considering a comprehensive view of the mosques in the structure and design of cities and neighborhoods, is not seen as a single element of architecture, but as the role of historical mosques and religious beliefs and changes from a traditional society to a modern one. However, in the form of urban solutions, it is the physical development of the neighborhood, because the mosque has always been an integral part of Muslim–inhabited areas and more than its constituent elements in bringing about change and urban development.
