The aim of this research to study the Abrasion on carbonate rocks which comes from specific mines in Syria, and possibility finding correlation between Abrasion test(L.A) and some physical properties of carbonate rocks . Results or Finding: - Most of studied carbonate rocks are resistance(18-41%). - There is correlations between some physical properties of carbonate rocks and Abrasion test(L.A) .

Basalt is classified as a isotropic rock in according to its mechanical properties. But gypsum is considered isotropic transverse rock . coming the mechanical parameters values joins practice direction of parameters . By using a nondestructive me thod such as the ultrasonic test which depends on understanding the effectual of mechanical properties upon speed of ultrasonics inside rocks , one can indirectly predict the mentioned parameters Tests were completed within 35 gypsum and 11 basalt rocks specimens which collected by completions under the direction of General Organization for Land Development ( Directorate of Geological Investigation).
The aim of this study is to use the measured values of the magnetic susceptibility in the classification of the basaltic rocks and their different differentiation degrees as an additional discrimination factor to the geochemical analyses, which we re applied on the basalts of southern and southeastern Syria. So the magnetic susceptibility of ٢٠٤ specimens sampled from all the ٧ basaltic groups in Qasr Shbeeka area in addition to ٦٢ specimens sampled from three groups from outside the studied area were measured. This led to the determination of all the magnetic susceptibility ranges, their mean values and their standard deviation of the basaltic rocks in the area.
In this research the development of the conditions of the determine copper duo by spectrophotometric method that based on the formation of a complex with Alizarin Red S was accamplished with the presence of fallow acid when the wavelength(220 nm), th at by studying the effect of PH and the impact if the interference caused by the presence of some metal ions (nickel ions, chromiun ions, 2 inc ions, calciom ions, and triple iron ions) which make it difficult for the progress of determine copper by Alizarin Red S. the best PH value for this process is (pH = 9.5) and the relationship of Lambert Bear realized within the range 0.2 – 125 mg/ml the detection limit was 0.OO1µg/ml.
The importance of this scientific research stems from the increasing demand for building materials, especially the materials involved in concrete industry. The attention was directed towards finding alternative locations for primary oresin addition to the process of reconstructing old mines as the continues inequitable taking of these materials will eventually result in wasting those resources losing them before using them in an economical suitable way. We have defined the hope positions in the areas of Banias and Tartous. We can say that deterioration of volcanic products in those areaswas a direct result of suitable climatic circumstances which were predominant (weathering process, deterioration, physical erosion, and chemical like wetness, wind, rain, temperature, and surface water streaming). The tectonic which attacked those formations later served to boost the weathering and erosion degree so that it became more effective for the production of some oxides such as (calcium oxide, iron oxide, aluminum oxide, deterioration of rock components, and concentration of clay) asplain strataof clay deterioration according to geochemical analyses conducted in this research.
