Two species of the Cucurbitaceae were collected and studied during Fep.2013 and June 2014 in Lattakia. As a result of this study, Ecballium elaterium was recorded on the Syrian coast ,while the other was´t. In this research where they were given an accurate scientific description The research also included examining the pollens, the result of which was that the pollens were similar in shape of the elliptic, prolate and sometimes globular shape. Trilinear growth holes were proved to exist in both species ,the fact that had made proof the correspondence between them. this Paleonological study is considered to be the first to study such these two species. It involved an anatomical additional study acted upon the above-mentioned. Two species where we examind thin cross section of the root, stem ,leaf neckband and the leaf.

This study aims to provide GC-FID and GC-MS analyses of the essential oil of dried aerial parts of Ecballium elaterium L. grown in Jordan and examining its cytotoxicity capacity. Methods: Essential oil was obtained by hydrodistillation using Clevenge r apparatus. MTT assay method was used to investigate the plant's in vitro antiproliferative activity against MCF-7, Caco-2 and Panc-1 cancer cell lines in addition to normal fibroblast cells. Results: E. elaterium hydrodistilled oil yielded thirty one components, accounting for 76.3% of the total oil content. High contents of nonterpenoidal compounds, sesquiterpenes, and monoterpene characterized the volatile fractions with hinesol (17.2%), the principal compound, benzaldehyde (12.3%) and E-β-ionone (7.8%) as the major constituents. E. elaterium ethanolic extract showed good activity against MCF-7 and Caco-2 cells (IC50 values=29.67 μg/mL and 17.64 μg/mL, respectively). Moreover, all extracts were safe on normal human cells. In conclusion: Evaluation of E. elaterium volatile oil has been conducted for the first time in Jordan; also various extracts were tested for the first time against Panc-1 cells. Furthermore, based on the obtained results, ethanol extract of E. elaterium may be advocated as candidate for breast and colorectal cancers management.
A morphological , anatomical and chemical study was carried out on Salvia viridis L. (Lamiaceae) . The results showed presence of two types of trichomes : - Glandular hairs with four or eight celled globular heads or with oval heads . - Eglandular hairs which are unicellular or multicellular , in addition to presence of candle shaped eglandular hairs . The palynological study revealed that the pollen grains were prolate and they had six germination lines , exine appeared reticulate . The extraction of volatile oils have been done by dry evaporation using GC/MS technique , chromatographic analysis of these extracts have showed the presence of complex of carboxylic acids , hydrocarbons , terpenes , esters and aldehydes .
Stages of initial callus and embryiods of date palm Phoenix dactylifera L. were histological and chronological studied begging from the ٢nd weeks of culturing segment of shoot tip to ten months in MS medium containing ١٠٠mg/l ٢،٤-D with activated charcoal in the dark. The study reveled that the active meristematic cells were unequally distributed in the explant and concentrated in the shoot apical dome and leaf margin. These cells are the bases from which initial callus started its growth. Somatic proembryo appeared for the first time as a meristematic cells groups separated from each other by relatively thick walls after five months of culturing in continuos culture in the same medium .In progress months (٦-١٠) the small simple proembryos continued into advanced multicell embryos and underwent polarization. Also the embryos were observed with attendance for division and separation into smaller or budded to produce numerous other.
This study was performed on three types of the genus Fumaria. The measurements were taken from the various parts of the flower petals, Sepals , the stamina and fruits. Also, an anatomical study was conducted of the root and stem. The shape and dia meter of pollen grains, the diameter of germination hole and the number of total pollen grains were studied. It was observed that the longest flowers and fruits in the specie F.capreolata.
This study contributes to the identification of plants in local flora for the purpose of preparing accurate classification of Syrian flora by specialists in plant classification. The objective of our research is - within this scopein the morpholog ical study of species belonging to Alopecurus L. This study adds to the Syrian flora a new species (Alopecurus utriculatus Sol.) from the family (Poaceae), tribe (Poeae). Besides, two another subspecies of (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) were studied. They are: A. subsp. Myosuroides and A. subsp. Tonsus. The study of these 3 samples included macro – morphological features such as: life form, leaf, ligule, inflorescence, glumes, lemmas, and flowers, and the micro – morphological features which are: abaxial surface of the leaf epiderm, and pollen grains. Macro – morphological study proved that the 3 samples are totally different in ligule shape, the shape and width of the cylindrical inflorescence, spikelet shape. And the micro – morphological study showed the similarity in epidermal structure in terms of the stomata pattern, , presence of hooks and prickles, but different in silica type. Pollen grains were elliptic and similar in the species and two subspecies.
