This study contributes to the identification of plants in local flora for the purpose of preparing accurate classification of Syrian flora by specialists in plant classification. The objective of our research is - within this scopein the morphological study of species belonging to Alopecurus L. This study adds to the Syrian flora a new species (Alopecurus utriculatus Sol.) from the family (Poaceae), tribe (Poeae). Besides, two another subspecies of (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) were studied. They are: A. subsp. Myosuroides and A. subsp. Tonsus. The study of these 3 samples included macro – morphological features such as: life form, leaf, ligule, inflorescence, glumes, lemmas, and flowers, and the micro – morphological features which are: abaxial surface of the leaf epiderm, and pollen grains. Macro – morphological study proved that the 3 samples are totally different in ligule shape, the shape and width of the cylindrical inflorescence, spikelet shape. And the micro – morphological study showed the similarity in epidermal structure in terms of the stomata pattern, , presence of hooks and prickles, but different in silica type. Pollen grains were elliptic and similar in the species and two subspecies.

أظهرت دراسة جنس المنتعش Amaranthus L. في بعض المواقع في اللاذقية وجود 5 أنواع وهي: Amaranthus viridis L. , Amaranthus blitoides S. Wats., Amaranthus retroflexus L., Amaranthus palmeri S.Wats, Amaranthus sp. . النوع Amaranthus palmeri يُسجّل لأول مرة في سوريا، أما النوع Amaranthus viridis فقد كان مسجلاً في فلورا سوريا ولبنان كمرادف لنوع آخر هو Amaranthus lividus بينما سُجّلا في فلورات أخرى كنوعين منفصلين، والنوع Amaranthus sp. قد يرجع لهجين شكَّل نوعاً مستقلاً بالنظر إلى اختلافه كلياً عن الأنواع الأخرى المعروفة جيداً. . بينت دراسة حبات الطلع أنها من النمط الكروي عديد ثقوب الإنتاش Polypantoporate عند جميع الأنواع المدروسة، مع اختلاف بسيط بالأبعاد، واختلاف بعدد فتحات الإنتاش على الوجه المرئي للحبة حيث تراوح متوسط عدد الثقوب على الوجه الواحد بين 14 ثقباً عند Amaranthus retroflexus، و24 ثقباً عند Amaranthus palmeri. وقد بينت نتائج دراسة مسام الورقة وجود أربعة أنماط من المسام هي: Anisocytic, Anomocytic, Isotricytic, Tetracytic، حيث اشتركت الأنواع الخمسة بالنمط Anomocytic، ولوحظ وجود أكثر من نمط في الورقة الواحدة في كل الأنواع عدا النوع الجديد. وبينت الدراسة الإحصائية درجة القرابة بين الأنواع المدروسة، وأن النوع الجديد كان أقرب إلى النوع Amaranthus palmeri.
Five species of Poaceae were collected: Briza minor L., Briza maxima L., Setaria viridis (L.) P.B., Setaria verticillata (L.) P.B., and Eleusine indica Gaertn., Fruct. Sem. Pl. which recorded for the first time in the Flora of Syria. Peels from a daxial and abaxial leaf surfaces were prepared and stained with the safranin . The results showed a clearly differences in these sides: existence or absence of the epidermal elements, their shapes and their measurements among the species from one side, and between adaxial and abaxial leaf surface for the same one from the other side.
Five species of the genus Poa L. from (Poaceae) were collected and studied in Lattakia, they are : P. annua ، P.infirma ، P. pratensis ، P. bulbosa ،P. nemoralis. This study put data base of the morphological features which included : habit, leaves , ligule, the structure of the inflorescence , spikelet, floret, micro-morphological characteristics which contained the epidermal structure of abaxial leaf surface, and the difference between costal and inter-costal zones of the 5 species, studying of pollen grain clarified the similarity in shape but there was a simple difference in measurements . Then , data from micro and macro morphological study were used to made a Dendrogram by using Statistica . The dendrogram showed the linkage of two annual species P. annua ، P.infirma in a cluster , every one of three another species had his specific cluster , P. nemoralis was closer to the annual species .
Two species of the Cucurbitaceae were collected and studied during Fep.2013 and June 2014 in Lattakia. As a result of this study, Ecballium elaterium was recorded on the Syrian coast ,while the other was´t. In this research where they were given an accurate scientific description The research also included examining the pollens,the result of which was that the pollens were similar in shape of the elliptic, prolate and sometimes globular shape. Trilinear growth holes were proved to exist in both species ,the fact that had made proof the correspondence between them. this Paleonological study is considered to be the first to study such these two species. It involved an anatomical additional study acted upon the above-mentioned. Two species where we examind thin cross section of the root, stem ,leaf neckband and the leaf.
Taxonomic study confirmed of genus Ornithogalum L. (Star of Bethlehem) recording 4 spices belonging to him are: O.narbonense L., O.montanum Cyr., O.umbellatum L., O.ulophyllum Hand.. for the first time in the Jableh region, The morphology of the d atabase was put included (Habit - bulbs - bulbest surrounding Balbs - leaves- presence of the white line on adaxial of the leaf - the green line on abaxial of the tepal - stamens - pistil - fruits - seeds - with type and dimensions of pollens and definition the stomatal type) and linked these character by using Statistica for Dendrogram which showed the presence of 3 clusters, cluster common of two spices O.narbonense, O.ulophyllum, While an alone all of two spices O.umbellatum O.montanum, cluster of its own, and put a taxonomic key to distinguish between studied species.
