This research aims to identify Mamdouh Odwan's Styles of poetic intertextuality , depending on a first reading of concept of " intertextuality" and its role in providing the process of creativity with traditional expressions that lead the modern te xt to a level of interacting with other texts. This interaction, furthermore, is denoted via the duality of connection and disconnection sometimes based on copying and following ancient poetic texts and neglecting or even negating them other times. The poetic intertextuality in Odwan's is crystallized in three styles : connotation by which the poet retains the morphological structure of old poems, relatively ; reference through a word or a sentence of old poem and finally allusion that depends on symbolism in achieving intertextuality with old poetry. This paper will approach the aesthetics of those styles and their sub-divisions in order to reach results that show the effect of poetic intertextuality on making the modern poem open to ancient poetic heritage as well as employing it in a modern visionary context.
This textual study aims at revealing the effectiveness of argumentation in structuring the poetic text. The study discusses two basic dimensions in this regard: first, the theoretical dimension that will identify the concept of argumentation in Ar istotle's poetics, Arabic lexicon and the traditional Arabic Rhetorical discourse. This dimension will also discuss the different views given by argumentation scholars in modern poetics. Finally, it will describe the relationship between argumentation and culture, especially in cultural studies. The second dimension is the practical one in which Al – Ra'i Al- Numairi's (Daliah) will be taken as a model because of being a political text. This text is made up of four paratexts: distance and discrepancies of events, the extra-ordinary adventure and the consequences of the unknown the revolutionary self and the worrying nighttime, and the blaming female and the rebellions male. All these paratexts together provide clues about argumentative writing that clarifies the confusion in the relationship between Al – Ra'i Al - Numairi who represents the oppressed and the Ommayad authority represented by the caliph Abdul Malik Bin Marwan.
Description is one of the most important elements of poems and poetry, because of its presence in all poetic purposes. It depicts the reality of Arab poetry and is not limited to drawing shapes, but it accounts for their existence. It is measured by the standards of beauty and precision, and the ability to suggest, depict and search in imagination. Poet kings and leaders are abundant in giving consecutive images of the description subjects. Those images, or depictions, are taken from the environment, so they described manifestations of nature and the universe around them. Therefore, the description came as a manifestation of their passion for the homeland, and pride in the beautiful nature. It also came as an embracing of the joys of life, and as a depiction of their feelings and the harsh experience they have suffered inside the prison, including the features, the feelings and attitudes worthy of attention. This study investigates the poems of kings and leaders which were descriptive. Some of them are elongated descriptions where they composed long descriptive poems, such as those on the manifestations of silent nature, a subject endearing to them. It was so because this subject motivated them to spontaneously and fluently compose poems on the bright nature of Andalusia, and the tender personality of the Andalusian which was eager to the manifestations of beauty. On the other hand, there was another kind of description, which was swift and suggestive. On a different scale, we will portray in detail their experience in the darkness of the prison. We will follow the features of the general image of the prison, through our treatment of partial images drawn by each individual poet in different positions.
