A total of /13/ fungal species belonging to /10/ genera have been obtained from nine samples of sunflower seeds. The isolation was on potato dextrose agar media and blotter paper with tow treatments (surface-sterilized seeds- seeds without sterilization). The species were Aspergillus flavus ; A. niger ; A. fumigatus ; ؛Alternaria alternate ; Fusarium solani; F. moniliforme ; Macrophomina phaseolina ; Mucor racemosus ; Penicillium chrysogenum ; Rhizopus stolonifer ; Trichotheium rosum ; Rhizoctonia solani and Absidia ramosae . The most prevalent species was Aspergillus flavus with percent frequency 100% and 55-77% for Alternaria alternata. The percentage of seeds germination was between (0-77%) on PDA media and (20-81%) on BP, and it was low in the non-sterile seeds treatment. The moisture content of the seeds was between (7.4-13%), and there is no correlation (R2=0.06) between the percentage of the infected seeds and its moisture content.

A survey to record the genera of nematode associated with wheat in the south region of Syria was carried out during 2002/01. 600 soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of wheat and examined. Nematodes were extracted, identified and frequ ency was calculated for each genus. Results showed that 17 genera of nematode were associated with wheat. These genera were divided into three groups. The free living nematode consisted of eight genus, the plant and fungi nematode three genus and the plant parasitic nematode group contains six genus.
A survey to record the genera of nematodes associated with chickpea of domestic variety, which are planting at Izra’a Research center in Dara’a Governorate, was carried out during the period from April 2003 till June 2003. Nematodes were extracted , examined and identified to genus. Population density, frequency (%), and prominence value (PV) were calculated for each genus of 40 samples were collected from the root rhizosphere soil and from plant roots itself. Results showed that eight genera of plant-parasitic nematodes, and seventeen genera of other nematode groups were associated with chikpea plants.
The research was executed in Biotechnology Lab (Faculty of Agriculture – Damascus University), during the season 2016. Sixteen genotypes of Sunflower Oil were planted to study the genetic diversity among these genotypes and to determine the degree of genetic Agreement using the technique SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats).
A pots experiment was carried out using two soil types (clay loam and sand soil) to study the interaction between VA-mycorrhizal (My) and some soil fungi under the effect of rock phosphat on growth of onion plant. The interaction between mycorrhiz al (My) and other soil fungi increased the fresh weight of root in comparison with mycorrhizal (My) alone, however the differences were not significant except for (Saccharomyces+Mycorrhiza) (Sac+My) similar results were obtained in sandy loam soil. The percentage of root colonization on the growth of onion plant was not effected by the interaction between mycorrhiza (My) and other osil fungi (Actinomucor, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Saccharomyces) (Act, Asp, P, Sac). This value, however was high in the second harvest in treatment mycorrhiza (My) and (My+Sac) (My+Act) The VAM- fungus alone and their interaction with other soil fungi increased the plant growth.
Root rot is considered one of the serious widely spread tomato diseases in plastic houses culture of Syria. Soil solarization, using transparent polyethylene (PE) covering, was applied during July and August (١٩٩٤-١٩٩٦) in Tartoos governorate for controlling soilborne pathogenic fungi. Results indicated that, native fungal populations in covered moist soil supplied with or without sulfur were significantly reduced in comparison with the uncovered treatment.
