Background & Objective: Interimplant distance is one of the factors influencing interimplant crestal bone resorption. In addition, Several studies have shown the ability of microthreads and platform switching to minimize crestal bone resorption around implants. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of interimplant distances of 2 mm and 3 mm on the vertical resorption of interimplant bone peak. Methods & Materials: 39 implants were inserted in 13 patients ( 6 males and 7 females) whose ages ranged between 30 -55 years old with an average of 43.7 years. Every patient received 3 implants in the posterior mandible. Thus, we had tow study groups: First group where the interimplant distance was 2mm, and the second group where the interimplant distance was 3mm.The amount of vertical resorption of interimplant bone peak was measured radiographically at implant exposure, prosthesis delivery, 3 months after loading, and 6 months after loading. Statistical comparisons were performed using T student test ,and the P-value was set at 0.05. Results: No statistically significant differences were found between the 2 groups regarding the amount of vertical resorption of interimplant bone peak . The mean vertical resorption of interimplant bone peak was 0.48 mm in the first group and 0.23 mm in the second group at the end of study. Conclusion: Within the limits of this study, there are no statistically significant differences in the influence of interimplant distance of 2mm and 3mm on interimplant crestal bone resorption.

Soft laser applications continue to improve local bone mineral density which is considered the most important factor in dental implant success. This study aims to evaluate the Trabecular to Cortical bone ratio (TCr) index -as a simple easy measureme nt index- that expresses the bone mineral density. This is to be able to predict the success of dental implants. The study included 40 patients, who had a single implant in the lower molar region. The patients are divided into two groups: 20 patients had an implant with a soft laser application, i.e. GaAlAs laser (wavelength 830 nm), and 20 patients had an implant without a soft laser application. Ordinary Analog periapical radiographs were used with calibration Stepwedge of pure aluminum, a medical Dijora program was used to measure radiographically local bone density in the periapical radiographs, and a panoramic Tomography was made to study TCr and two bone density indices (thickness ratio x density ratio) and (equivalent Aluminium thickness). All were measured during the period before implantation and 3, 6, and 9 months after the implantation. The study found a strong linear correlation between the TCr and (thickness ratio x density ratio) 0.001>P, R2= 0.842 36(r = 0.8. and equivalent Aluminium thickness( 0.001> P, R2 = 0.656735, (r = 0.8). The study shows that TCr index expresses both radiographic indices which reflect the local bone density, which means that the TCr is associated with such density. Therefore, it can be used as an easy way to predict the quality of bone, and prognosticate the success of dental implants.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of the mucosal tissue thickness on the crestal bone resorption around dental implants during a year of follow-up. Nine patients of both sexes included in this study received 24 implants. Patients in the sample were divided into two groups: group I (mucosa above 2 mm, and 12 implants), and group II (mucosa up to 2 mm, and 12 implants). This study aimed to radiographically assess the effectiveness of the synthetic graft (Easy-Graft)™ which consists of [BCP+PLGA] in preservation of alveolar bone after teeth extraction. The sample consisted of thirty extraction cases in 28 patients ( 17males 11females) and was randomly divided into two groups; study group (15 cases) where the graft had been applied after extraction and the control group (15 cases).
