The present study aimed to extract the Indicators of Validity and Reliability of the
Toulouse Self-Esteem Scale - Children's Copy. The Scale was translated from French to
Arabic and presented to a group of Arabic language specialists to ensure that
the wording
is correct, after which a counter-translation into the original language (French) was
performed to ensure the accuracy of the translation. The scale was applied to a random
sample of 413 children in Lattakia. The results of the study showed a high level of
accuracy with a high degree of stability (repeatability of 0.776 and alpha-cronbach 0.81 ),
identical to the statistical indicators of the Scale in its French version. A hypothesis was
then tested as to whether there was a difference between the average male and female
scores on the scale. It was found that there was a difference on the macro scale, the
dimensions of social self-sufficiency and school self-interest for females. And 71.4% of
individuals are at the high level of self-esteem.
The research concluded that more studies on the scale should be carried out in
different settings and should be used in the fields of education and psychology
The current piece of research aims to identify the discrepancies among males and
females in relation to the kinetic-perceptual recognition capabilities for students aging (6-
9) years. This is done through focusing on the characteristics of this ag
e group, and
realizing whether or not there is a difference accompanying such capabilities due to the
gender-variable . For this purpose, a comparison has been conducted between males and
females regarding he features of the capabilities such as age-group capabilities, the
characteristics of which are alike for both sexes. The study sample includes 60 fe/male
students at Ayham Mallah School in Lattakia. The descriptive comparative approach has
been used.
The study concludes that there are no statistical discrepancies between males and
females in relation to kinetic-perceptual capabilities for students aging (6-9) years. It also
concludes that the kinetic-perceptual recognition capabilities for such age-group students
equally develop with both sexes whenever they are exposed to similar ecological and
educational variables, and they live in one community and learn at the same school and
they are subject to a uniform education system.
Playing is right for all children , and it's an important activity in their life, they
discover through it the world around them, and it was confirmed by philosophers,
psychologists and educators on the importance in children's lives and in their b
ehavior and
development. So we must provide spaces for children to play wherever they are, especially
in public parks, and must be given adequate attention and study according to international
design foundations, so check for children fun and interest together.
The research presents an analytical study of some of the children's playing spaces in
parks in the city of Damascus in order to verify the extent to which architectural elements
to the needs of recreational and development of children, from different age groups, and
through the analysis of the design elements of the samples studied and evaluated in
accordance with the recommended standards.
Dental caries is considered as one of the most common chronic diseases. The study of prevalence and severity of dental caries conducted in a specific geographic area contributes in constructing necessary plans for treatment and prevention. Aims
of this study are to determine the prevalence and severity of early-childhood caries and to define risk factors associated with ECC among Lattakia/ Syrian preschool children. The sample comprised 909 children were divided into three age groups 3-4-5 years. A questionnaire was distributed and contained information on oral feeding habits, socio-economic status and educational Status of the mother. The results, and data analysis showed that the prevalence of ECC for pre-school children was 84.8%, the mean dmft and dmfs score in the group was in 3 years ( 4.09 (5.22=+6.22 & 2.85+=respectively. In 4 years3.43+=4.12) &7.29 += 8.25 ) .In 5 years (4.93 +=4.42 & (11.962+=10.157.
The value of the significant caries index SIC was 9.02. We obtained on 492 questionnaire which was observed a significant relationship between ECC and age of children , socio-economic status of the family, the educational status of the mother, feeding habits ( quantity of sweet consumption per day- time of sweet consumed between meals, using baby bottle ). However, breastfeeding and gender didn't have significant effect
This research aims to investigate the correlation between the parent caring as the children realize it, and their self –esteem at the late childhood at ten years old in schools of Lattakia. To achieve the aims of this study, the researcher designed
two tools: a questionnaire that measures the parental care as the children realize it and a questionnaire that measures the children's self-esteem. The two tools were applied on a sample randomly selected, which consisted of (137) children. The results were as the following:
1- There is a statistically significant correlation between the methods of the parental care of the father and the child's entire self-esteem at the late childhood.
2- There is a correlation between the positive method of the father concerning the parental care and the child's entire self-esteem at the late childhood. It was significant at the indication level ( 0.01).
3- There is no correlation between the negative method of the parental care of the father the child's entire self-esteem.
4- There are no differences between children at the level of the entire self–esteem according to the gender variable.
