The research was conducted at Abo-Jarash farm, faculty of
agriculture, Damascus university during the two growing season
2011-2012 and 2012-2013 in order to evaluate genetic variability of
some lentils genotypes based on some physiological and
productivity traits associated with drought tolerance. The
experiment was laid out according to factorial randomized complete
block design with three replications.
Four isolates of Streptomyces sp., St.1 and St.2 were isolated
from garden soil of science faculty, St.3 and St.4 were isolated
from Al-Shameia soil Lattakia, by serial dilution on Starch Casein
Agar medium.

This paper presents a new solution that allows the doctors to know drug interactions,
considering other affecting factors such as the patient's age, weight, physiological and
pathological condition. This solution is characterized by being increment
al, not only by
enriching the database with drug interactions information, but also by its ability to conclude
other interactions through a built-in expert system. The system concludes drugs interactions
based on its active substrates and the potential interactions between them or between the drugs
families. The system serves in three ways; it determines whether the patient illness is possibly
due to the medications he is on. It alerts the doctor to the interaction of the newly prescribed
medication with the patient’s medications, and to its influence on the patient’s physiological or
pathological condition. Besides, it suggests alternative drugs when needed. The solution offers
additional services such as binding between the brand name and the generic drug, and between
drugs and diseases.

تأثير درجات الحرارة والرطوبة النسبية في بعض المؤشرات الإنتاجية والفيزيولوجية عند العجول الرضيعة في مبقرة دير الزور
The study was conducted at the Horticulture Department, Faculty of
Agriculture, University of Damascus, during the season of 2002 and 2003, in
order to study the effect of dipping apple fruits for the tow apple sorts for 5
minutes with some chemic
al substances, α-Tocopherol (0.25%) and
Prohexadion-Calcium (1%).
The fruits were stored at AlMaze cold storage unit under the normal
storage condition (0-1ºC, 93% R.H.), to find out some effects of these
treatments on some physical, chemical, and physiological changes of treated
and untreated apple fruits, especially: fruit weight, firmness, starch, and
soluble solids content.
Analysis of variance indicated a significant difference in storage ability of
both fruit apple samples in case of dipped fruits in Procalcium solution 1%
compared with control fruits. The tocopherol treated fruits were sometimes
significant.
The results showed a reduction in fruit weight in case of treated sample
during cold storage time. Fruit firmness was significantly better in both
treatments of procalcium 1% and tocopherol 0.25%compared with control,
and reducing physiological disorders during cold storage period.
This investigation was carried out at the experimental Station of the College
of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, King Saud University, Al-Qassim,
Saudi Arabia, during the growing season 2001/2002. The objectives of the
research were to study
and evaluate the productivity, morphological and
physiological behavior of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) plants grown under palm
trees environment.
The results proved the important effects of palm trees shading on alfalfa
growth, development and productivity. Significant differences were observed
between the control treatment and the two other treatments. The results also
showed a significant increase in fresh and dry weight and quality
characteristics except for fat percentage. This percentage increased gradually
from treatment 1, which was located under palm trees, to treatment 2, which
was located between palm trees to the control treatment, which was located
away from palm trees, where there was no shading. The morphological and
physiological characteristics did not significantly change in spite of the existed
changes among their means.
