The researcher used tools to collect demographic data and to measure the pain intensity as determined by the women verbally, and the intensity of the pain as it appears on the face of the women. The study found a decrease in the intensity of pain in the women in the sample when applying both massage and breathing techniques on their own and when applied together during the first stage of labor. The current study recommended massage and breathing techniques during the first stage of labor to reduce labor pain, educate midwives on the importance of massage and breathing techniques in the alleviation of labor pains and train them to apply it, and to conduct research on the effectiveness of participation between the use of other methods of non-pharmacological pain relief and non-participation Among them.
Surgical placement of dental implants may cause a certain degree of pain and discomfort to some patients. Conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have been widely used in the control of postoperative pain, but sparse information is avail able about the efficacy of celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, after surgical placement of dental implants. The aim of this study was to compare the analgesic efficacy of celecoxib and ibuprofen on pain control after the surgical placement of dental implants .
This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of the use of Platelet- Rich Fibrin on immediat complication following impacted mandibular third molar surgery. forty extractions of bilateral impacted mandibular third molars were performed in 20 volunt eers (18 to 25 years old). After extraction of right and left mandibular third molars, the socket at 1 side received the autologous PRF (test group) and the other was filled with blood clot (control group) .

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of dexamethasone, as a single 4-mg dose, which was injected into the masseter muscle upon completion of extraction of impacted lower third molars . this study is A prospective, randomized controll ed study . This study involves 40 healthy patients of both sexes with impacted mandibular third molars in this study . The difficulty of extraction was similar in all cases. The test side received 4 mg of dexamethasone This dose was injected into the masseter muscle via the intrabuccal approach, immediately after suturing of the surgical wound. The control side received 4 mg of dexamethasone injected into the gluteal area.
Post-obturation pain is one of the primary problems following root canal treatment. Although in most cases pain does not last long, but could be a source of embarrassment to the dentist and annoying for the patient. This study was conducted to in vestigate and compare the incidence of postoperative pain after one-visit root canal treatment (RCT) on teeth with vital pulps using three different obturation techniques. 90 cases were assigned into three treatment groups, each group 30 cases(10 anterior, 10 premolar, 10 molars), The canals of all teeth were prepared using Protaper rotary system and then filled at the same visit using one of the three obturation techniques (lateral condensation technique, HEROFILL technique, E&Q PLUS technique). The postoperative pain was recorded on a visual analogue scale (VAS) of 0 - 100 after 2 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and 7 days.
Recovery from cardiac surgery is associated with severe chest pain at the site of sternotomy and limb pain at the site of conduit harvesting. Patients routinely report mild to moderate pain even though they were administered sedative drugs. The integ ration of massage therapy into the team approach in patient care constitutes a move forward that recognizes pain as the fifth vital sign after pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate. This study was performed on patients who had open heart surgery and had the inclusion criteria for entering the study in ICU in Bassel Center for disease and heart surgery in Lattakia. A sample of 30 male and female patients was randomly divided into two groups: control group, experimental massage group. The experimental group received hand and foot massage after surgery. Our findings demonstrate that the mean score of pain severity in both groups was not significantly different at the beginning of the study. This means that pain severity was similar in both groups at the beginning of the study before applying any intervention. Results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean score of pain severity of the intervention group and the control group, after applying hand and foot massage together. The study concludes that foot and hand massage is one of the available interventions in complementary medicine and treatment which provides an opportunity for nurses to care for their patients.
chronic pain after inguinal hernia repair is an adverse outcome that affects about 12 % to 54 % of patients. Ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric ( IG – IH ) nerve block has been widely used in patients undergoing inguinal hernia repair. Ketorolac is indicated for the short term (less than 5 days)management of pain and appears to be particularly useful in the immediate postoperative period. A standard dose of Ketorolac provides analgesia equivalent to 6 – 12 mg of morphine administered by the same route. The interval to onset is also similar to morphine, but Ketorolac has a longer duration of action (6 – 8 h). what is the best method for pain management after inguinal procedures? Is there any difference between (IG – IH) nerve block, and Ketorolac IV postoperatively (pain scores, early movement, nausea, vomiting ...)?
The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of helicobacter pylori (HP) in patients with chronic gastroduodenitis and to compare the clinical presentations between patients with positive HP chronic gastroduodenitis and those with negative HP. Also, To compare the endoscopic findings between patients with HP positive gastroduodenitis and HP negative children. Gastroduodenoscopy was done for every child with abdominal pain admitted at the children hospital-Damascus University between 2002-2003. Mucosal biopsy was taken from every patient who had gastroduodenitis diagnosed by gastroduodenoscopy. The percentage of patients with gastroduodenitis having HP positive erosions was 48.38 %. Higher percentage of HP positive patient was more present in those with the erosion and sub-atrophy forms.
