Surgical placement of dental implants may cause a certain degree of pain and discomfort to some patients. Conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have been widely used in the control of postoperative pain, but sparse information is avail able about the efficacy of celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, after surgical placement of dental implants. The aim of this study was to compare the analgesic efficacy of celecoxib and ibuprofen on pain control after the surgical placement of dental implants .
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the possibility of implantation in chronic periodontally infected sites The research sample comprised of 20 implants were placed in 6 patients from both sex , the sample were divided into 2 groups: the co ntrol group, 10 implants were placed after waiting period of four months after the extraction and the test group, 10 implants were immediately placed after extraction in areas of chronic periodontally infected sites. Gingival index GI, marginal bone loss MBL, proping depth PD, Implant survival, evaluated for both groups. The results of the present study showed that the survival rate was 100% in control group and 80% in test group. There was no statistical difference between the test and control regarding, GI, while there was statistical difference between the test and control regarding MBL and PD during periods of follow up.
The purpose of the present study was to radiologically assess the hard tissue changes around the immediately loaded implants single tooth bioactivated with plasma rich in growth factors ,placed in the mandibular posterior region . Twenty dental im plants placed in 13 patients had at least single edentulous space in the posterior region of the mandible using single stage procedure after bioactivation the implants surfaces with plasma rich in growth factors.
The aim of this study was to evaluat the influence of insertion torque on the survival of immediately placed single tooth implants and bone resorption process around it . Materials and methods : 8 healthy patients received 24 conical implants ( ID I-BIO ) with sand blasted and acid etched surface . All implants inserted immediately in extraction sites, the sample were divided into two groups: The implants in the first group were inserted with insertion torque below 35 Ncm (mean 25 Ncm ) , while in the second group the implant were inserted with insertion torque above 35 Ncm (mean 52,2) .Implant survival and marginal bone loss MBL were evaluated after two , six and nine months for both groups .Results : four implants from the first group failed to osseointegrate, and statistical analysis of the data showed no correlation between insertion torque and peri- implant bone resorption .
Maxillary sinus augmentation is frequently necessary before placement of dental implants in the posterior maxilla. Besides autogenous bone graft, various bone substitutes have been used widely to augment the maxillary sinus, successful bone augmenta tion in the maxillary sinus without bone grafting and osseointegration of implants have been reported in several studies, recently, successful bone reformation in the sinus using autologous platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) concentrateas an alternative to bone grafting has been reported. The aim of this study: was to assess the useof PRF clots and membranes as the sole filling material during a lateral sinus lift with immediate implantation using radiologic exam (cone beam ct).
Background& Objective: The reduction of alveolar crestal bone density is one of the earlier signs of periimplant disease and precedes the loss of height of the alveolar crest, because of that early detection of the small changes in density is impor tant and lead to the early onset of treatment and increases its success's percentage. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of the direct conventional digital method in detection of density changes around dental implants by the mean value of the gray level of the histogram of the selected area comparing with radiographic subtraction method.
