Knowledge and practices of heart failure patients related to diet

يعرف قصور القلب بأنه حالة غير طبيعية تتضمن فشل المضخة القلبية بضخ الدم إلى جميع أنحاء الجسم بالشكل الأمثل وهو يمثل 23% من مجمل الأمراض التي تصيب القلب، ويمكن لاتّباع نظام غذائي صحيّ وتغيير العادات الغذائية السيئة أن يساعد على الوقاية من ذلك المرض وعلاجه؛ وتعتبر معلومات وممارسات مرضى قصور القلب المزمن حول الحمية الغذائية مفتاح الخطة العلاجية وخاصة لدى المرضى الذين يعانون من اختلاطات متقدمة، ولتقييم تلك المعرفة والممارسات أجريت الدراسة الحالية على عينة قوامها 50 مريض/ة مشخص لهم قصور القلب، وأظهرت نتائجها أن لدى (74%) من المرضى المشاركين في الدراسة مستوى جيد من المعلومات المرتبطة بالحمية الغذائية الخاصة بهم، وأن لدى (52%) منهم مستوى حيادي من الممارسات المرتبطة بتلك الحمية، وقد أوصى الباحث بالعمل على مراقبة ومتابعة معلومات وممارسات مرضى قصور القلب باستمرار من أجل تقويمها بشكل مستمر.

Heart failure is defined as an abnormal condition that includes the failure of the heart pump to pump blood throughout the body optimally and it represents 23% of all diseases affecting the heart, eating a healthy diet helps prevent and treat this disease. the dietary information and practices of patients with chronic heart failure are the key to the treatment plan, especially for patients with advanced complications. and for that, the present study was conducted on a sample of 50 patients with heart failure. The results showed that (74%) of the patients in the study had a good level of knowledge related to their diet, and (52%) of them have an verage level of practices related to this diet, the researcher recommended to continuously monitor and follow up the knowledge and practices of heart failure patients in order to evaluate them continuously.
