يهدف هذا البحث الذي يحمل عنوان "كونراد و نساءٍ رمزيّات" إلى تسليط الضوء على
حقيقةٍ هامة لطالما غابت عن بال النّقاد الذين عاصروا جوزيف كونراد و هي أنّ كونراد
لم يهمل تجسيد الأنوثة في أعمالوه كما كانَ شائعاً، بل على العكس فإنَّ هذا العنصر
الأنثويّ بقيَ حاضرا في أعماله على صورةِ السفينة التي وصفها في كتابه "مرآةُ البحر"
كامرأةٍ رمزيّة تحملُ "صفاتٍ أنثويّة".
The present study shows the influence of Conrad's
identification with "ships," on his gaining insights into femininity
and on representing female characters in his fiction. These ships are
interestingly referred to by Conrad in The Mirror of the Sea as
"allegorical women".
