Maalulla town has a high religious, historic and cultural position internationally and it is one of the Syrian mountain towns which is located on the eastern slops of the eastern cliffs mountain and the western cliffs mountains of the first Qalamoon mountain range. Due to such a geographical site, strict conditions were set on the town's building plans especially because of the several geo-morphological hazards which threaten the town such as the spreading of rocky masses in the higher sections of slops in addition to other factors which contribute in identifying such hazards levels such as the distances between the rocky masses and houses, economical and service constructions, their size and number in addition to their morphologic characteristics, moving and resisting forces, slops shapes, distribution of sections, fractures and cracks system which affect the degree of Qusta front cliff stability through their distribution and directions, in addition to all geological, topographic, climate and geo-morphologic states of the area.

In this paper, ground surface settlement induced by tunneling have been studied using 2D finite element analysis. By assuming greenfield conditions, which means that there is no loads on the soil surface above the tunnel. A FE study was conducted in which an elasto-plastic constitutive model was adopted to model the soil behavior (MC,HS). This paper include Comparison between actual field measurements with (FEM) results, and parametric study for the most factors that influence ground surface settlement.
Various methods have been developed to measure the location of physical objects on a landscape with high positional accuracy. A new method that has been gaining popularity is the Airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR). LiDAR works by scan ning a landscape (the combination of ground, buildings, vegetation, etc.,) by multiple passes. In each scan (pass), pulses of laser light are emitted from an airborne platform and their return time is measured, thus enabling the range from the point of emission to the landscape to be determined. The product of airborne laser scanning is a cloud of points located in a 3D space. ALS is capable of delivering clouds of very dense and accurate points that represent the landscape in a relatively short time. However, in spite of the ability to measure objects with high positional accuracy, the automatic detection and interpretation of individual objects in landscapes remains a challenge. An example of such a challenge is the classification of the cloud points produced by ALS. The classification of LiDAR cloud points consists first of all of assigning the points as either object points or bare ground ones. The points labeled object points are then further classified as either buildings or vegetation. As a measurement technique, LiDAR is highly promising, research has been conducted here to automate the detection of bare ground, buildings and vegetation in LiDAR cloud points. In this Research, we describe a new automated scheme that utilizes the so-called “Edge Topology based Iterative Segmentation” (ETIS) model to classify the LiDAR points as ground and objects points. First ground seed points based on edges topology are to be selected and then the initial DTM is to be constructed, the second step is an iterative densification of the DTM using a cloud point segmentation method based on local slope parameter. General ground point filtering parameters have been used was achieved in this method, instead of scene- wise optimization of the parameters, in a way that many groups of benchmark datasets have been without changing the thresholds values. Data provided by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) commission, have been used to compare the performance of ETIS. The new method is also tested against the 16 other publicized filtering methods. The results indicat that the proposed method is capable of producing a high fidelity terrain model.
In this paper, the modeling methods of tunneling and the surface subsidence induced by that have been studied by using two-dimensional numerical analysis according to the FEM method, assuming the green field condition، which means that there is no load on the soil surface above the tunnel. A FE study was conducted in which an elasto-plastic constitutive model was adopted to model the soil behavior (HS, HSsmall). This article includes a comparison between the results of numerical analysis and field measurements to executed projects، and a suggested method for modeling tunnel excavation and surface subsidence induced by that.
The spinning mill factories most dangerous among industry sectors for the occurrence and diversity of occupational hazards which, where the workers exposed directly to cotton dust which causes many respiratory problems. In addition to using the mach ines cause many problems such as bruising and wounds, also the noise of the machines have negative effects on the ear. Occupational hazards are classified according to the International Labor Organization and the World Health Occupational Organization to six main groups biological hazards, chemical hazards ,physical hazards, ergonomic hazards and psychological hazards. The importance of this research return to the high rates of accidents at work and occupational illnesses and deaths from occupational hazards, and lack of research conducted in this area in Syria. The aim of the present study was to identify occupational hazards for textile workers in Lattakia and the related factors. The study was conducted at the spinning factory in Lattakia, a convent sample of 308 production workers. Is a descriptive research methodology, the questionnaire has been used as a means of collecting data through personal interviews with respondents. Physical hazards took first place among the most common types of occupational hazards among workers, and was the lack of personal protective equipment and and not used by the workers linked to the increased incidence of occupational hazards, while the results did not show any relationship of statistical significance between the occurrence of occupational hazards and demographic data to workers such as age, experience and education level. Our present study results advice to conduct regular inspections to workplaces by the occupational safety officer to ensure safe working conditions for workers and provide a means of personal protection and psychological support for them.
