Banias River Basin is located in the middle of the Syrian coast between the Joubar and Merqiah River Basins. Its catchment area is ) 97 ( km2, and its length is ( 24,5) km. The research aims to get the optimal management of the available and non-exploited water resources of Banias Spring, using water evaluation and planning system WEAP. Research methodology based on collecting data and proposing two scenarios, first: storing of Banias spring water to provide the water requirement of Banias city, Second: replacing Sin Spring in order to provide Banias Refinery water. The percentage of coverage is about 88% requirement in scenario of water supply to Banias city, while differentiated during the year in scenario meet the water requirement of Banias Refinery, which has reached 84% in the first six months and fallen in October to 52%. Existing wells in the confined aquifer are used to cover the shortfall in the requirement.

Snobar River is the basic water resource system in Snobar watershed (268.8 km2), which empties into the Mediterranean sea 10 kilometers south of Lattakia. We must find out advanced management to face of the recent serious conflicts such as climate ch anges. Modeling is adopted as appropriate tool to achieve this object. This study uses the software package WEAP21 (Water Evaluation and Planning System), which is specifically designed to evaluate and plan the water resources. We suggest two scenarios to carry out the weaping Snob arriver basin: the first includes new irrigation techniques, the second includes extended dry climate. The study has shown that demand site coverage reaches to 100%, but the river dries in the downstream of Athwart reservoir. We economize on water by suggestion a dripping irrigation technique (59%). Water year method and extended dry climate scenario declare the likely dangerous effects of climate changes.
Water sources in Syrian coastal area have a great importance due to the variety of the sources and the urgent needs to water for drinking and irrigation. Therefore great efforts are made to protect water sources from contaminants. This research aim ed to study some contaminant indicators in some drinking water sources in the Syrian coastal area. The study included determining the concentrations of nitrates, nitrites and some heavy metals including lead, cadmium and zinc in water samples taken from five sources of water distributed from north Lattakia to north Tartous. The results showed that the concentrations of nitrate, nitrite and heavy metals differ depending on the water source. However, all these concentrations were lower and within the acceptable limits of Syrian standard for drinking water. The study concluded that water resources in the coastal area are distinguished with their relative purity and contaminants little reach.
According to the chemical pollution danger in general and its danger on groundwater wells in agricultural areas particularly the inhabited ones , the scientific study was implemented to determine the concentrations of some ions in water wells withi n the area of Hraesoon; In addition to, monitoring their changing values which indicate the rate of chemical pollution in the study area due to existing activities. The search involves a monthly periodic physical and chemical analyzes in the invested wells in Hraesoon area , Banias city for a whole year. starting from September 2011 till August 2012 by choosing ten invested wells disterbuted in the area. The study includes the changing of temperature ,pH, electrical conductivity, and the group of negative ions (nitrate NO3 -, phosphate PO4 3-, sulphates SO4 2-, chloride Cl-) in addition to positive ions (ammonium NH4 +, Sodium Na +). The values of the studied ions have demonstrated a clear disparity in each month for the samples taken from the same wells, due to the agricultural ,human activities and climatic conditions that prevailed during the sampling dates. The recorded results show cases of chemical contamination in the water wells studied not identical the Syrian standard for drinking water (2011-2012) portend a lot of health and environmental risks, especially that many of those wells are used for drinking purposes.
Pollution is an important problem experienced by modern societies and the presence of polluants in water resources, especially freshones, makes them a serious and specified problem for growth and life. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the validity of the sources of drinking water and comparison with the Syrian Standards adopted in this field, as well as the calculation of their Quality Index ( Candian Quality Index )where periodic physical ,chemical and biological analysis of water samples taken from the specified sampling points were carried out in the studied area all the year round from April 2017 to March 2018 ,(The Electric Conductivity , Turbidity , Total Hardness , Ammonium , Nitrite , Nitrates , Phosphates ,Sulphates , Total Coliform , Fecal Coliform and E-Coli) were measured . It showed that the values of the physical and chemical parameters of the water samples taken from the specified sampling points achieved the allowed limits of the Syrian Standard for drinking water expect for some values of Total Hardness and Phosphate calcareous.Bacteriological pollution of water samples was found at specific sampling points throughout the year with Total Coliform , Fecal Coliform and E-Coli exceeded allowed limits in drinking water .Th classification of water in terms of drinking capacity for the first water source ( Defa Spring )was acceptable (medium – acceptable ) while its for the second water source ( AL-Rwameya Wells ) was very poor.
The study and design of water-intakes on springs is based on the analysis of time series of historical measurements to achieve prediction of incoming water volumes or future expected. The research aims to model the monthly water flows of AL-SIN Sp ring in Syrian Coast and future expectations of these flows, by adopting the Box-Jenkins models to analyze the time series data, due to its reliable accuracy. Monthly water flows, thus, monthly volumes, for 101 month (from June 2008 to October 2016) were processed. Performing the stability of the time series on variance and median and non-seasonality and making the wanted tests on model residuals, we found that the best model to represent the data is SARIMA(2,0,1) (2,1,0)12 , and after dividing the data into 81 month to build the model and 20 month to test it. Depending on the smallest of weighted mean of criteria RMSE, MAP, MAE,. The best predicted model was SARIMA (3,1,0) (1,1,0)12 and the model gave the nearest predicted values to actually measured data in spring.
