The /n/ is an original consonant in Hebrew and Arabic, and comparative linguistic studies confirm its originality in all Semitic languages. Due to the importance of the /n/ in the vocal structure of the Arabic word, the Quranic literature allocated chapters to study its rules. But the importance of this consonant is not restricted to phonetics only. We have found that it has effects on the linguistic and grammatical structure of the word in both Hebrew and Arabic. Therefore, our study aims to unveil the importance of this consonant and its role in the linguistic structure of the word in both languages. To achieve this we adopted the comparative linguistic approach.

Knowing the vowels in the Hebrew language is one of the most important obstacles faced by learners of the Hebrew language, because of the complexity compared to their counterparts in the Arabic language. I have worked hard, in my research, on simplifying them, as far as possible, for the Arab recipients through comparing them to their counterparts in the Arabic language. This research may show us that most Vowels in Hebrew have similar counterparts in Arabic, but Arab linguist did not allocate an independent vowel for each case as Hebrew linguists did, which suggests to the neophyte that the number of the symbols of vowels in Hebrew is larger than the number of those in Arabic.
This research aims to focus on the changes that happen to a Hebraic word when adding extensions. We discovered that adding those extensions affects the rhythm changes, the voice order changes, deleting and moving it, and sometimes return it to its base, also adding the extensions plays a role in changing the meaning. We done all this work by comparing with the Arabic language, so the worth of this work become greater, because the two languages belongs to the same language family.
Arabic and Ugaritic languages both belong to one linguistic origin, and are connected with similar relations that came to both from the Proto Semitic. The linguistic materials are precisely read from the Ugarit texts in order to extract all joint or non-joint features. The comparisons and their counters in Arabic languages will be in the light of the other Semitic languages such as Phoenician-Canaanite, Hebrew, Syriac, and Akkadian languages. And since the letter “M” is a linguistic sound, which plays in other languages ( rather than Arabic) the role that letter “N” plays grammatically in Arabic language like dual ,normal, phonetic alterations, and in structuring verbs, names, articles and pronouns. Such comparative linguistic study between the two languages is indicative dictionaric and phonetic comparisons, Moreover, it is a continuation of the old origins of phonetic structures of pronunciation in Arabic Language, a rejection of the indicative alternations and an extraction of the phonetic laws that control the linguistic materials which are under those linguistic comparisons.
We present the task of Automated Punishment Extraction (APE) in sentencing decisions from criminal court cases in Hebrew. Addressing APE will enable the identification of sentencing patterns and constitute an important stepping stone for many follow up legal NLP applications in Hebrew, including the prediction of sentencing decisions. We curate a dataset of sexual assault sentencing decisions and a manually-annotated evaluation dataset, and implement rule-based and supervised models. We find that while supervised models can identify the sentence containing the punishment with good accuracy, rule-based approaches outperform them on the full APE task. We conclude by presenting a first analysis of sentencing patterns in our dataset and analyze common models' errors, indicating avenues for future work, such as distinguishing between probation and actual imprisonment punishment. We will make all our resources available upon request, including data, annotation, and first benchmark models.
This study aimed at analyzing the level of involvement of the linguistic performance in Arabic language curricula, represented by language skills: listening, conversation, reading and writing, in accordance to the outcomes of teaching embodied in t he objectives in order to keep an eye on the appropriateness of the content of the Arabic language curriculum for the predetermined objectives. The results of analysis showed the following: the percentage of representation of the content for listening comprehension for all grades is “80.75”; the percentage of representation of the content for writing skills for all grades is “84.3”; the percentage of representation of the content for conversation skills for all grades is “91.25”; the percentage of representation of the content for reading comprehension for all grades is “92.8”. The results of analysis on the level of curriculum showed that: the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the first grade is “89.5”; the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the second grade is “89.125”; the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the third grade is “87.875”; the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the fourth grade is “87.375”; the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the fifth grade is “85.5”; the percentage of representation of the content for all skills for the sixth grade is “84.375”.
