The aim of this paper is to present a recent experimental investigation of the wall pressure distribution observed during the emptying of a modeling silo, with and without, inserts, for three different heights hi of the insert base above the hopper outlet. The experiments were carried out with corn, at the concrete lab. in faculty of civil engineering in Damascus university in Syria. The results show that the upper-cone with downer-cone trunk insert had a strong influence on the pressures in the silo.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the flow pattern and wall pressure due to the change of the opening discharge diameter in cylindrical silos. The experiments were performed on a metal silo prototype using corn as a granular mater ial. The silo prototype used in the study was built of a metallic cylinder, which can be opened longitudinally allowing the observation of the flow pattern through a plexi-glass wall, and the wall pressure distribution was measured using a special granular pressure transducer. The present study revealed unexpected results to what might be expected through current theoretical knowledge.

Analysis study was done to explain the effect of the longitudinal section on the values of pressure of the water hammer resulting from the trip of pumps, which results a low pressure wave often lead to get cavitation, has been shown from the anal ytical study of several profiles and compare the results, that the shape of the profile and the level of the pressure line after the stopping of pumps determines the type of cavitation formed , the region in which it occurs and the pressure values resulting from it, when the profile doesn’t contain bends or the bends are below the level of line pressure a distributed cavitation is occurred, In the case of the presence of high points , the effect of the bend is linked to several factors: 1 - the greater the height of the bend above line pressure increases the possibility for column separation and increases the pressure forces. 2 –the pressure forces increase whenever the bend closer to the pumps.
This research discusses the exponential function of the explosion load and the pressure decay factor in this function (a). After that, four functions with four different values of the pressure decay factor are studied, and that is for the un-damped S DOF system, where the equation of motion is formed and solved. Then, using MATLAB software for every function, the relationship between (Yst/Y(t)) and t/T is plotted, and that enables plotting the response spectrum for each one. Moreover, a comparison between the spectra of the last three functions with the first one that describes the triangular explosion load is drawn. This research has concluded that for a certain range of (a), it is possible, and with acceptable approximation, to use the spectra of triangular load, but beyond that it is better to use the spectra of exponential load.
Corrosion is the most important problem in the process of oil production, Its results are: sudden fracture, high economic cost and great loss in oil equipment. Appropriate solutions have been suggested to extend the life of facilities, and to avoid c orrosion phenomenon which may get the facility out of service, But, finding the main reasons causing this phenomenon, and studying the factors that contribute to increase or reduce the spread of corrosion requires more urgent attention. In this paper, the data of the pressure has been analyzed in three crude oil pipelines and focus was on the values during the days where changes were irregular. In the same period, the study of internal corrosion rate was being done, using weight loss method. It has been noticed that when the value of pressure is greater than 2 Mpa, the internal corrosion rate will be above the maximum. allowable limit which is 4 mil per year (MPY), while the internal corrosion rate will be within the acceptable range when the pressure is not greater than 1 Mpa.
