هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى الكشف عن العلاقة بين الشفقة بالذات و سمات الشخصية كما تقيسها قائمة العوامل الخمسة للشخصية، و تعرف الفروق في الشفقة بالذات حسب كلٍ من الجنس (ذكور و إناث)، و التخصص (أدبي، علمي)، و معرفة أثر كلٍ منهما في الشفقة بالذات.
و قد تكونت العينة من ( 184 ) طالباً و طالبة، نسبة الإناث (53 %)، و الذكور( 47 %)، تم اختيارها من الأقسام الأدبية ( 88 ) طالباً و طالبة، و العلمية ( 96 ) طالباً و طالبة في جامعة الملك خالد، بمتوسط عمري قدره (22,36). أما الأدوات فكانت عبارة عن مقياس الشفقة و قائمة العوامل الخمسة للشخصية. (Neff, بالذات الذي أعدته نيف (2003
و أظهرت الدراسة النتائج التالية:
وجود علاقة إيجابية بين الأبعاد الإيجابية للشفقة بالذات (اللطف بالذات، الإنسانية المشتركة، و اليقظة العقلية) و بين سمات الشخصية (الانبساطية، و الانفتاح على الخبرة، و المقبولية، و الضمير الحي)، مع وجود علاقة سلبية بين الحكم الذاتي و بين العزلة و التوحد مع الذات
و العصابية. كما أظهرت النتائج أن الإناث أكثر شفقة بالذات من الذكور، و أن طلاب الكليات الأدبية أكثر شفقة بالذات من طلاب الكليات العلمية. كما أظهرت النتائج أيضاً أن هناك تفاعلاً دالاً بين الجنس و التخصص و الشفقة بالذات. و ختمت الدراسة بمجموعة من المقترحات و التوصيات التي تشير إلى أن الشفقة بالذات الإيجابية تعزى إلى سمات الشخصية.
The present study aims: 1- to examine the relationship between the Self- compassion and personality traits as measured by a list of five factors of personality to determine gender differences (male and female) in self-compassion 3- to determine specialty
differences (literary, scientific) in self-compassion
The sample consisted of (184) university students. Participants were 184, (53%) females, and (47%) male, with an average age of(22.36), selected from the Humanities(88), science(96) in King Khalid University.
The tools were Neff's self –compassion scale, and a list of five
factors of personality.
The study showed the following results: in correlation analysis three were positive significant relationship between the positive
dimensions of Self-compassion (self-kindness, common humanity,
and Mindfulness), and personality traits (Openness to Experience,
agreeableness, extroversion, and conscientiousness), with a negative relationship between self-judgment, common humanity versus isolation, and mindfulness versus over-identification. It also had a significant negative association with negative affect and neuroticism.
The results showed that self-compassion was more evident for
females than males and that heronry college students showed than self- Compassion more then college students of science.
The results also showed that there is interaction between sex and
specialization and Self-Compassion. The study concluded by a set of proposals and recommendations on the variance in positive self compassion beyond that which is attributable to personality.
