A clinical trial cross over was carried out to compare the clinical effectiveness of the use of conventional toothbrush (Oral-B Indicator Plus) and (Soladey-eco) which is equipped with a rod of semiconductor of titanium dioxide (TiO2) to remove dental plaque and their impact on Streptococcus mutans counts (CFU) . The Sample included 60 patients aged 13-19 years. The sample was equally divided into two groups: the first group used toothbrush (Oral-B Indicator Plus) and the second used toothbrush (Soladey-eco) twice daily for one month, followed by (wash out) period for two weeks, after which the exchange of the two groups for the two types of brushes, the examiner was blind. To determine the effectiveness of the two brushes, the dental plaque index was calculated for every brush before and after brushing. The S .mutans (CFU) in saliva was calculated too but just for (n=30) before and after brushing. Results showed that the use of the brush (Soladey-eco) has greater effectiveness in removing dental plaque and caused a reduction of Streptococcus mutans counts compared with the brush (Oral-B Indicator Plus) in the research sample

Forty-five Bacillus isolates were obtained from different foods (spices, grains, dried milk), the isolates were identified using traditional method from Bergey's manual based on morphological tests (gram staining, spores staining), physiological t ests (optimum growth temperature, pH, NaCl concentration) and biochemical tests (Voges-Proskauer, gelatin hydrolysis, esculin hydrolysis, β- Galactosidase test, Lysine decarboxylase and Ornithine decarboxylase, production of acid from different sugars). Bacterial suspensions were prepared from the isolates and FTIR spectrums were obtained using ATR unit, which consists of ZnSe prism, by scanning at the range of 4000-400 cm-1. Results revealed that the isolates represented 5 species of Bacillus (B. pumilus, B. subtilis, B. lentus, B. megaterium, B. cereus) and the potential of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy-attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) method as a reliable method for discrimination among Bacillus isolates, which is accurate, rapid, easy to apply and cheap.
This research is a theoretical study for the scattering mechanism of the charge carrier in the transport tunnels of system consisting of metal-insulator- semiconductor (MIS)- When the insulator is polarized where the conductivity of surface for semic onductor polarization behavior due to charge transfer during interfaces. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of self-action and polarization potentials on the ground state of electron- polaron in semiconductor layer by means of is olating the Schrodinger equation and discussion of some special cases such as the potential is triangular form (case of contact metal – semiconductor).
The aim of this investigation was to compare between liver pate mixtures manufactured from local raw materials and determine the best mixture. Twelve pate mixtures with three types of livers (sheep, chicken, calf) and different concentrations of w ater and fat were prepared and analyzed for microbial counts (aerobic, anaerobic, yeast, mold, Staphylococcus spp, Salmonella spp, Listeria, mono- cytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Clostridium spp, E.coli O157:H7 ،Campylobacter spp), emulsion stability and sensory evaluation to determine the acceptability of the pate mixtures. Microbiologically, most of raw materials which used to prepare the pate mixtures were going with Syrians Standard (No. 2179, 2007), The mixtures were free of the aerobic microbial counts after the completion of the sterilization process. Sheep fat was better than vegetable oil for processing liver pate mixtures. According to sensory evaluation and emulsion stability, the mixture No12 containing 10 % of three types of liver, 30% sheep fat and 20% water was the best.
The dissolution rate of Iron and Titanium from Syrian basalt rock was studied by hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, mixture of hydrochloric acid methanol, sulfuric acid methanol solutions. The effects of temperature, time of digesting and concentra tions of acids have been investigated, the ratios of solid to liquid and stirring speed were constant (S/L=0.02). It has been clear that when the mixture of hydrochloric acid and methanol (100:50(V:V) HCL:CH3OH) was used, the best dissolution for both iron and titanium was obtained when we digested the rock and it took 6h at 100 ˚C where as the concentration of hydrochloric acid and methanol were [HCl]=11M, [CH3OH] =0.92M, the resulting ratios of dissolution of iron and titanium in the mentioned conditions were 75.53%, 63.19 % respectively.
The aim of this research is to study chemical and physico-chemical characteristics of Akawi, Medaffarah, Shankalish and Sorkeh cheeses for their identification and comparison with some internationally widespread cheeses. Several chemical analyses were performed on samples collected from different region famous with these products.
