We performed this study aimed to compare the sensitivity of parasite detection by microscopic examination in samples collected by conventional technique and samples collected after local anesthetic with lidocaine and adrenaline of the same lesions in patients with suspected leishmaniasis.
Background: Lidocaine had shown to inhibit neural conduction and antiinflammatory properties. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of using intravenous lidocaine with general anesthesia drugs on opioids and inhaled anesthesics cons umption during surgery and the require of analgesics after surgery. Setting: This study was carried out in the department of anesthesia and reanimation at Tishreen University Hospital, Lattakia, Syria during 2017-2018. Type of study: Double-blinded randomized comparative study.
