Introduction:The nurse manager role and how it is carried out in healthcare
organizations has been an important topic which had emphasized by many international
organizations and institutions during the past two decades. Thus, this role had impact
on
nursing staff, other healthcare providers, patients and on healthcare environment as whole.
To carry out her duties, nurse manager needs to build up and improve her personal skills
and leadership competencies continuously. This by depending on international competency
standards which developed by international organizations and institutions to be the basic to
assess and improve nurse managers competency. Depending on these standards, this study
was conducted and aimed to assess nurse managers' competency in implementing
international competency standards in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany
hospital at Lattakia.
Thestudy was conducted on Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals at
Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from
two hospitals. The main results ofthis study was that there was agreement between nurses
'viewpoints and nurse managers' viewpoint in both hospitals on nurse managers'
implementation of international competencies standards.
Introduction: As nursing develop with regard to science, knowledge & practice and nursing responsibilities increase, critical thinking- the ability to question and make rational decisions- becomes even more important. Whereas, critical thinking requi
res that all thoughts and actions be examined objectively, in patient care almost all actions require decision making, and problem solving. Critical thinking is an essential element in decision making which involves choices, and problem solving which requires analysis. Through critical thinking skills, a nurse manager can become a transformational leader. She can challenge the routine nursing practices now, develop a more robust understanding of any problem underlying causes, and develop her leadership skills as well as develop more creative solutions when using critical thinking. Although, critical thinking skills are more important but there were few studies both English and Arabic and there was no study in Syria concerned with critical thinking skills that must used by nurse mangers to do their role effectively, for that this study was conducted and aimed to assess critical thinking skills of nurse managers in Al- Assad university hospital and Al- Wattany hospital in Lattakia. The study was conducted in Al- Assad university and Al- Wattany hospitals in Lattakia. Whereas, The study sample consisted of 21 nurse managers , and 80 nurses from both hospitals. The results of this study showed that there were positive convergence between nurses 'viewpoints and nurse managers ' viewpoints in both hospitals and that nurse managers used critical thinking skills in their practice.

administrating vaccines , and aquestionnaire to assess information of nurses, and a
questionnaire to assess parents' satisfaction with the nurses' performance.This study aimed
to assess the quality of nurses' performance in conducting of vaccination at health centers
in Latakiacity.The most important results of this study that the quality of performance for
most nurses was average in conducting vaccination. The study also showed that the
majority of nurses have a weak level of information about vaccines. but the parents were

The study aimed to assess the clinical supervision from viewpoint of students of
Nursing Faculty in Tishreen University. The study sample consisted of 350 students,
randomly selected from the students of Nursing Faculty in The four academic years,
who
were existed during the period of data collection. The researcher developed the tool of
assessing clinical supervision depending on up-to date references, and the tool consisted of
three axis: axis of training process management, educational axis, and supportive or
motivation axis & students' satisfaction with clinical supervision.
The main results of the study were there was a few difference between negative and
positive viewpoints of students toward supervision on them in clinical training. Whereas,
students' assessment was more positive in axis of training process management, while it
was more negative in the remaining axis (educational axis, supportive or motivation axis,
and students' satisfaction with clinical supervision.
