In this work, we study the task of classifying legal texts written in the Greek language. We introduce and make publicly available a novel dataset based on Greek legislation, consisting of more than 47 thousand official, categorized Greek legislation
resources. We experiment with this dataset and evaluate a battery of advanced methods and classifiers, ranging from traditional machine learning and RNN-based methods to state-of-the-art Transformer-based methods. We show that recurrent architectures with domain-specific word embeddings offer improved overall performance while being competitive even to transformer-based models. Finally, we show that cutting-edge multilingual and monolingual transformer-based models brawl on the top of the classifiers' ranking, making us question the necessity of training monolingual transfer learning models as a rule of thumb. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the task of Greek legal text classification is considered in an open research project, while also Greek is a language with very limited NLP resources in general.

Arab societies have been going thought major changes since the end of
the last decade . And in such an era marked with changes role of the
educated emerges because it has to do with creating collective
consciousness.
This research deals with the
concept of the educated and the various
paradoxes that have to do with the question of the concept and definition.
The research also handles the role of the educated represented in the
critical stand to the current social and political frameworks، so the
research reviews the causes behind the retraction of the active role for the
Arab educated and ascribe it to external objective factors (the entire non_
existence of freedom, the absence of democratic atmosphere, the frailty
of national society institutions and the poor economic status) and
subjective factors(the intellectual elite expatriation, the variety of
loyalties and associations and the non-determination of priorities) the
research sheds light on the relationship that the educated has with the
social environment and the political authority. The research finally
handles the relationship of the educated with authority and society and
sees the solution to that paradox in institutionalizing social and political
life.
نشأ النظام العربي في الأصل مؤسسًا على واقع الدولة القطرية. فقد تكونت جامعة الدول العربية في عام 1945 من سبع دول عربية مستقلة، و أوجد ميثاقها نماذج للتفاعل بينها لا تتجاوز هذا الواقع القطري و إن لم تحل دون تخطيه لمن شاء، و استمرت هذه الصيغة مع توالي ا

و قد كانت واقعة الاستقلال القطري بحد ذاتها نقطة انطلاق لتكريس واقع الدولة القطرية بحكم مصالح النخب الحاكمة و سعيها إلى ترسيخ أوضاعها استنادًا إلى شرعيات "وطنية"، و تغذية النوازع "الوطنية" القطرية أحيانًا على حساب القومية.
و قد تعامل الفكر القومي العربي مع هذه الظاهرة، على الأقل وفق بعض تياراته الأصيلة، تعاملا سليمًا يجمع بين الواقعية و المثالية، فقد اعترف بالواقع القطري و إن لم ير فيه عائقًا أمام تحقيق الوحدة العربية.
The aim of this research is to study the concept of history and evolution for
“IbnKhaldun” through a systematic illustration of the meaning of history. Therefore, we
present this research in order to reach the philosophy of history for “IbnKhaldun”
and to
highlight the importance of this philosopher as one of the founders of the philosophy of
history as his conception of history makes him close to contemporary philosophers.
This perception is crystallized to history on rejecting the “empiricalconcept”
radically. Therefore, we find that the history of “IbnKhaldun” is not a narrative of news,
but it is an explanation of eventsin which we can build it a new science.
The concept of progress that was crystallized in the eighteenth century has signs in
the introduction of IbnKhaldun in which he presented a methodology for studying history
in its interior movement and not in appearance. In addition, the problematic questions that
raised by “IbnKhaldun” opened horizons for knowledge and development such as:
What is the relationship between historical knowledge and historical writing? Is it
possible for history to be part of science?
This research also points to the errors of historians, which occur for many complex
reasons that might be psychological, social, political and cultural.
The errors also may happen because of a lack in knowledge about the laws of nature.
