In WDM networks, the end users exchange information with each other through all optical WDM channels, called light-paths. A light-path must occupy the same wavelength on all the fiber links through which it traverses. In a WDM optical network, with a given set of connections, the question of setting up light-paths by routing and allocating a wavelength to each connection is called Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA) problem. Integer Linear Programming (ILP) is a mathematical formulation helps in minimizing and maximizing an object function under multiple constraints. This can help in formulating a mathematical model for RWA. This paper studies a mathematical model for RWA in WDM Optical networks which can lead to a good network planning. This paper suggests an enhancement proposal for Syrian telecommunication optical networks using ILP formulation.

The low cost, ease of deployment has exposed WSNs an attractive choice for numerous applications, like environmental monitoring applications , security applications, real time tracking, and so on. But in reality, these networks are operated on batte ry with limitations in their computation capabilities, memory, bandwidth ,so they called networks with resource constrained nature, and this impels various challenges in its design and its performance. Limited battery capacity of sensor nodes makes energy efficiency a major and challenge problem in wireless sensor networks. Thus, the routing protocols for wireless sensor networks must be energy efficient in order to maximize the network lifetime. In this paper we simulated LEACH,SEP,DEEC,TEEN routing protocols and evaluated their performance by comparing with DT routing protocol in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks on MATLAB.
Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a form of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, but the nodes of this network are vehicles with special equipment to enable them to communicate with each other. These networks need to implement protocols to ensure that messag es are reached to their destinations and achieve the desired goal of the application. In this paper, we present an analysis of the performance of a number of major routing protocols used in these networks which protocols AODV (Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector), DSR (Dynamic Source Routing), and OLSR (Optimized link state routing). This analysis is based on various parameters such as packet delivery ratio and end-to-end delay, in order to find the best protocol can be used in the network with low density. To achieve this purpose, we used a simulator OPNET_17.5. Depending on the simulation results we have obtained and the analysis and comparison of these protocols at different low density contract .We found that the protocol AODV is the best among the studied protocols under the conditions set out in this study.
Summary of the thesis In this research, the work examined the role that lasers play in unguided systems in underwater wireless systems (FSOUW), which determine the practical choice of laser system components in unguided systems, and examine the impa ct of the absorption of sea and ocean water to lasers and their association with laser wavelength. Three wavelengths (445, 532, 650) nm have been used to assess the validity of the selection of the appropriate water channel with 100 ml watts of laser as its transmitter energy. SNR, BER and SER were examined following five different water channels. These are pure tap water, and with salt, various concentrations of Malox (MG(OH)2 and Al (OH)3) and salt have been added in order to get high-turbid water, and the results show that mallox and salt content reduces the energy receiving the laser signal and causes disconnection. The charts on wavelength change were drawn with their absorption coefficient in the laboratory for several wavelengths and several types of ocean water and the results were discussed.
Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks are used for data transfer. The nodes of such networks do not require presetting. They are characterized by dynamic data transfer during their movement of the nodes. MANET could be targeted by potential security breaches. Bl ack hole attack is one of the serious attacks targeting wireless AD_HOC networks through a false point whichcan absorb data and send them to another place or neglect them. This is due to the lack of central control node which is able to manage communications. This research investigates the effects of the black hole on the performance of hybrid routing protocol Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA) and proactive routing protocol Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) for a variable number of mobile nodes in different speeds in a high load environment.
In this PAPER, we perform a study and extensive comparative between the well-known link quality estimators and CTP, a tree-based routing protocol provided by TinyOS for different network topology and simulate it using TOSSIM simulator to evaluate the performance of these estimators.
