The purpose of this research is issuing an Atlas of wind including study of all regions
in the Syrian Arab Republic, especially the off shore and on shore areas within the
territorial water to determine the economic returns for different sites all
over the country
where everyday could be invested in each one, and set perceptions and measurements in
the Mediterranean about currents, waves and wind so as to choose the forms of offshore
wind fans on the Syrian coast.
Using of the Syrian territorial water and shore as a site to build wind farms is a way
for facing the lack of available areas on land, staying away from the noise of towers fans
rotation by this study, the sites which could be used for generating electrical energy were
determined at the minimum speed in 4.5 m/sec, which is taken as an indicator to determine
the sites depending on the measurements of wind speed and direction from the research
centers in Cyprus and Greece.
As a result of the increasing demand of energy especially the electricity , all
countries in the world headed towards depending on the alternative energy instead of the
fossil one , one of these alternative energy is the wind energy which is genera
ted by wind
farms include a sufficient number of aerobic fans according to the required power .
In Syria , We don't deepened on This alternative energy , but the ministry of
electricity with meteorological drew and issued atlas of the wind in Syria. These forms are
distributed in five regions on the mainland according to the energy that could be generated,
without taking the Syrian territorial water and the continental shelf opposite the Syrian
shores into account.
So that we worked on drawing, identifying and creating an invest mental map for
wind farms on the Syrian shores situating at the following locations: 1.Raas Al-Bassit، 2-
Al-Snober،3- Al-Hamidieyd
After monitoring the wind ,currents and the hydrodynamic effects and forces in the
sea as important requirements which are taken into account for designing the foundations
and bases of the offshore wind fans to choose the best places for building the offshore wind
farms to give additional electrical energy , clean and friend of the environment.
Summary of the thesis
In this research, the work examined the role that lasers play in unguided systems in underwater wireless systems (FSOUW), which determine the practical choice of laser system components in unguided systems, and examine the impa
ct of the absorption of sea and ocean water to lasers and their association with laser wavelength.
Three wavelengths (445, 532, 650) nm have been used to assess the validity of the selection of the appropriate water channel with 100 ml watts of laser as its transmitter energy. SNR, BER and SER were examined following five different water channels. These are pure tap water, and with salt, various concentrations of Malox (MG(OH)2 and Al (OH)3) and salt have been added in order to get high-turbid water, and the results show that mallox and salt content reduces the energy receiving the laser signal and causes disconnection.
The charts on wavelength change were drawn with their absorption coefficient in the laboratory for several wavelengths and several types of ocean water and the results were discussed.
