نُفّذَ البحث على 270 فرخة (إناث فقط) من الفري الياباني في مدجنـة المعهـد التقـاني الزراعـي
بدمشق–جامعة دمشق -خرابو، وزعت الطيور منذ بداية التجربةإلى ثلاث مجموعات بمعدل 90 طيراً في
كل مجموعة، ضمت كل مجموعة ثلاثة مكررات بمعدل 30 طيراً في المكرر الواحـد، و أُجريـت رعايـة
الطيور للمجموعات جميعها في أقفاص تحت ظروف إيواء خلال مدة الإنتاج التي استمرت مـن عمـر 8
أسابيع إلى عمر 22 أسبوعاً، أما تغذية طيور المجموعات المختلفة فقد كانت مختلفة و على النحو الآتي:
غذيت طيور المجموعة الأولى (الشاهد) على خلطات الموصى بها (NRC1994) و احتوت خلطاتها على
1غ DL- مثيونين إلى كل كيلو غرام خلطة علفية (1.0%من الخلطة العلفية). و غذيت طيور المجموعـة
الثانية على خلطات الموصى بها (NRC1994) مع إضافة 65.0 غ DL - مثيونين لكل كيلوغرام خلطـة
علفية (065.0%من الخلطة العلفية) ، و غذيت طيور المجموعة الثالثـة علـى خلطـات الموصـى بهـا
(NRC1994) مع إضافة 2غ DL - مثيونين إلى كلّ كيلوغرام خلطة علفية (2.0% من الخلطة العلفية).
This study was carried out at the poultry experimental station, Technical
Institute of Agriculture, Damascus University, Kharbo. 270 of Japanese Quail
birds, one day of age were divided equally into 3 similar groups (90each). Every
group comprised of 3 replicates of 30 each, each replicates contained 10 cages.
Birds were housed and managed under similar conditions throughout the
experimental period which lasted from the 8 to 22 weeks of age. The birds were
fed on rations recommended by NRC and contained 1, 0.65 or 2 of DLmethionine
g/kg of ration in the first (the control), second and third groups
respectively. Results showed that using ration contained 2g DL-methionine/
1kg of ration gave a significant increase in egg weight, production and
economical efficiency value as compared to the other used rations.
