تم إجراء (55) تداخلاً جراحياً لمرضى مصابين برجفان أذيني في المدة الواقعة ما بـين 12 كانون الثاني 2002 – و 29 كانون الثاني 2003 ، و ذلك باستخدام طاقة الأمواج القصيرة فقد كان عدد المرضى الإناث خمس و ثلاثين (35) مريضة. تراوحت أعمار المرضى بين 20 – 72 سنة، و متوسط العمر 3.44 سنة . تم تطبيق الأمواج من الداخل (cardial Endo9) في 46 مريضاً، و من الخارج ( Epicardial ) في 9 مرضى.
Surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) has been gaining ground as the preferred method of treatment of this potentially lethal arrhythmia affecting 1/3-1/2 of patients with mitral valve diseases. It is specially suited for patients undergoing an operative procedure. Between Dec 12,2002 and Dec 29,2003 ,fifty five operative patients with chronic AF were subjected to AF ablation with microwave energy at Damascus University Cardiovascular Surgical Center . Thirty five patients were female; age ranged between 20 and 72 years. All of them had chronic AF.

A study was conducted in Al-Assad University Hospital in Lattakia during the period February 2012 and February 2013 the study included a random sample of 97 patients (males and females) divided into three groups: the first group consisted of 16 patie
nts with left atrial enlargement with no atrial fibrillation, the second group included 70 patients who had left atrial enlargement with atrial fibrillation, and the third group of 11 patients had atrial fibrillation with no left atrial enlargement.
In the study the ECHO Doppler was used for measuring left atrial volume index (LAVI) through the Simpson method, this is in order to assess the role and relationship with the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. It was found out that three patients out of (16) from the first group about 18.75% developed an atrial fibrillation after one year of follow-up, which means that the left atrial enlargement gave a predication of the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. The continuation of atrial fibrillation was also noticed together with its lifetime with an increase in the size of left atrial after one year of following-up the patients of the second group.
3 out of (11) patients from the third group had an increase in the left atrial volume index at the end of the study 45.45% (P<0.001), Accordingly the atrial fibrillation could cause left atrial enlargement.Even though the left atrial enlargement may cause atrial fibrillation and vice versa according to thisstudy, the study shows the possibilities of existence of other variable factors related to atrial fibrillation whichplay a role in the occurrence.
In this study, samples of cotton fabric were dyed using direct dye
by the traditional method as well as using microwave energy at
different energy levels. It was noted that the use of microwave
energy increase the dye exhaustion at the used energy
levels
compared to the traditional method, as well as improving the
fastness to washing and wet rubbing.
A field experiment was conducted for two consecutive seasons 2006 – 2007
and 2007 – 2008 to investigate the effect of removing early developed buds on
growth, yield and some lint proprieties. Treatments involved in the experiment
included three le
vels of bud removal (0%, 50%, and 100%) at three times (one,
two and three weeks after budding). The treatments were arranged in FRCBD,
with three replications. Growth parameters (plant height, number of
nodes/plant, number of leaves/plant, and number of branches/plant) cotton
seed yield, lint yield and lint properties were investigated. The results revealed
that bud removal significantly increased plant height, number of nodes, cotton
seed yield and lint yield, uniformity (UR) and lint strength (HVI). Also the
results showed that, time of bud removal significantly affected growth
parameters, cotton seed yield and lint cotton. The results indicated that,
varieties and time of bud removal interaction had a significant affect on growth
parameters. While, percentage of bud removal and time of bud removal
interaction had a significant effect only on cotton seed yield and strength of lint.
The results showed that, there were significant difference between cultivars in
plant height and number of branches per plant, with cultivar Barakat – 90 the
best.
This paper presents the characterization of sea wave behavior in some areas of Lattakia
shore, through monitoring for more than one site different from each other by terrain,
water depth and bottom type (sand, rocks).

easurements of wave height values and their period at
breakwater area of Lattakia port, and also shows results of power calculations trans- mitted
with waves and speed of those waves, and brings a comparison of energy values calculated
using different experimental equations is being used globally, and shows that wave's speed
