the purpose of this research was to concentrate on this subject, where four types of concrete mixes of the same shape were prepared (Abrams settlement about 20 cm), but the cement content and compression strength in each mixture were different, all samples were exposed to destructive acid effect (nitric acid, sulphuric acid ) of a ratio 3% and PH ≤ 4.

Recently worldwide researches have been devoted to the use of steel fibers recovered from used tires in concrete. In Syria the amount of recovered steel from used tires is estimated about 6000 tons/year. For this purpose a bead wire having a diamete r of 0.8 mm from burnt tires was extracted and used. Three mixes with cement content 300- 350 -400kg/m3 were produced incorporating three different volumes of fiber 0.5%, 1.0%, and 1.5% and three different length 30-40-60 mm. The concrete obtained by adding these fibers evidenced a satisfactory improvement of the fragile matrix mostly in terms of toughness and post cracking behavior On the other hand it was improvements in compressive strength by steel fiber inclusion the interesting results confirm the promising application of concrete reinforced with steel fibers extracted from used tires in aircraft pavement hydraulic structures and ground slab in fabrics.
This paper is devoted to investigate the effect of high temperatures on the behavior and compression resistance of rectangular high-resistance concrete samples. In this study, rectangular samples with dimensions of (15X15X15 cm) have been made and after 28 days they have been burned in a special oven, then cooled down in the air. The exposition of high-resistance concrete samples which made of local sand and aggregate and use silica fumeoiiuk to high temperatures has led to a reduction and lose in the compressive resistance of this samples. When the temperature was 350 c, the reduction in the compressive resistance was about 13%, and at the temperature of 450c, the reduction was about 36%, and at the temperature of 850c, the reduction was about 72%. Therefore, we have to take this reduction of compressive resistance in the concrete elements seriously when they exposed to fire, so we can take the right decisions about rehabilitation or conservation or replacement of this elements.
The purpose of this report is to determine the effectiveness of using shear walls with Moment-resisting frames by modeling two bare frame structures. The first model is a combination of bare frames and shear walls, and the second model is without she ar walls, and analyzing them statically (LATERAL FORCE METHOD) and dynamically (RESPONSE SPECTRUM METHOD) using ETABS 2016 software, and comparing the results of base shear forces, displacements and vibration modes, in order to form a comprehensive understanding of the proper use of shear walls. The report raises critical questions regarding the key factors of resisting seismic forces on similar structures, where rigidity or ductility can play opposing roles in the overall structure resistance.
We discussed the importance of studying the trichomes award in olive trees, leaves and its role in the resistance to these trees against pollution resulting from the Banias refinery intake, through the study of their density and distribution on a superficial paper and examine the concentration of chlorophyll in the leaves, and comparing the results between the contaminated areas and the control area . Results showed that the density of the trichomes play a role in protecting the ports of entry into force of pollutants into the plant tissue, and its impact on the pigments of photosynthesis, and thus the process of photosynthesis.
In this research, site investigations and tests were performed in Khneifees phosphate mine. Samples of the studied rocks were brought to the laboratory and tests were performed. The types of these rocks are clayey limestone, organic limestone, white and gray trepolite, opoka, chert and phosphate. The tests were performed according to "American Standards for Testing of Materials" (ASTM), and the recommendations of "International Society for Rock Mechanics" (ISRM).
