The aim of this research is to study of detection sensitivity in optical preamplifier, which is used as a first stage in optical receivers. This subject is important because it is used in laser rangefinders. The parameters that affect the distance measurement using time of flight technique are studied in details. Then, noise analysis and signal to noise ratio calculation are performed in preamplifiers to detect a signal with pulse width of 30ns using Matlab. The study results are applied to some preamplifiers to determine the minimum detectable power.

The effect of thermal noise and shot noise on the receiver sensitivity in a digital optical communication system will be studied and analyzed. Also, the positive and negative effects of Parameters on the receiver sensitivity will be highlighted. Th e programming tools (MATLAB) is used to study the relationship between the receiver sensitivity and bit rate. It showed that the shot-noise-limited receiver sensitivity is much better than the thermal -noise-limited receiver sensitivity with best 30dB. The study also provided an explanation for the preference of optical detector (APD) compared to that in (PIN) optical detector from sensitivity side due to its internal gain, this can be achieved when the thermal noise is dominant. However, the preference of optical detector(PIN) will be better in case of shot noise is dominant. Analyzed results show that there is a significant improvement in the shot-noiselimited receiver sensitivity for high quantum efficiency and high wavelength. However, the sensitivity is deteriorated to get a lower error rate. The thermal -noise-limited receiver sensitivity showed an improving by increasing the responsivity and the load resistance. However, it decreases by increasing the number of noise and the error rate.
Studying is showed that the amount of exchanging information in the network surprisingly grows due to developing new communication services. But, when data rates increase the optical system performance degrades due to dispersion, which was taken in to account in this research. Where as the reduction of dispersion losses is important in optical networks. Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is one of the most important components of optical communication systems, and one of the effective methods used for this goal. This article tests the effect of using FBG as dispersion compensator in optical communication systems, where we simulate optical communication system using FBG. And study the effect of Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) and FBG and fiber optic parameters on this system performance, and it has been finding the best values of the system parameters. Which the simulation model depended on two Optisystem7 and Matlab software. We evaluate performance through eye diagram and two factors Q, Bit Error Rate (BER).
User posts whose perceived toxicity depends on the conversational context are rare in current toxicity detection datasets. Hence, toxicity detectors trained on current datasets will also disregard context, making the detection of context-sensitive to xicity a lot harder when it occurs. We constructed and publicly release a dataset of 10k posts with two kinds of toxicity labels per post, obtained from annotators who considered (i) both the current post and the previous one as context, or (ii) only the current post. We introduce a new task, context-sensitivity estimation, which aims to identify posts whose perceived toxicity changes if the context (previous post) is also considered. Using the new dataset, we show that systems can be developed for this task. Such systems could be used to enhance toxicity detection datasets with more context-dependent posts or to suggest when moderators should consider the parent posts, which may not always be necessary and may introduce additional costs.
Current abusive language detection systems have demonstrated unintended bias towards sensitive features such as nationality or gender. This is a crucial issue, which may harm minorities and underrepresented groups if such systems were integrated in r eal-world applications. In this paper, we create ad hoc tests through the CheckList tool (Ribeiro et al., 2020) to detect biases within abusive language classifiers for English. We compare the behaviour of two BERT-based models, one trained on a generic hate speech dataset and the other on a dataset for misogyny detection. Our evaluation shows that, although BERT-based classifiers achieve high accuracy levels on a variety of natural language processing tasks, they perform very poorly as regards fairness and bias, in particular on samples involving implicit stereotypes, expressions of hate towards minorities and protected attributes such as race or sexual orientation. We release both the notebooks implemented to extend the Fairness tests and the synthetic datasets usable to evaluate systems bias independently of CheckList.
This research aims to study and design a single mode optical fiber using simulation, with a core and glass cladding, and also helps in ensuring the efficiency to use the optical fiber designed within the broading window C-Band,and that these resear ches and studies tries to use this window. This research also shares to set the light on the Numerical Programmes and Simulation used now in studying and designing these optical fibers. At first we used the programOptifiberto reach the confidence of Sellmeier equation for the fiber core, and this completed by using the finite element method solving the equation of propagation the electric field and finding its 3-D distribution, using the famous simulating COMSOLMultiphysics. This completed by putting the program MATLAB to reach the two equation: the total dispersion and attenuation for the designed optical fiber.
