This study was executed at Al Assad hospital, Lattakia . is a retrospective study of ovarian mass patients who had been accepted in the department of gynecology during the period between 1/1/2009 and 31/12/2013 .The aim was to study age distribution of benign and malignant tumors , and to study the relation between Ca125 and pre/postmenopausal benign and malignant tumors. The study included 148 patients . The patients' ages ranged between 13-78 years , and the majority of benign tumors occurred in the age group 21- 40 years and the majority of malignant tumors occurred in the age group 51- 60 years . The commonest tumors were epithelial in origin followed by the germ cell tumors followed by sex cord stromal tumors and metastatic tumors. In benign tumorsCa125>=35u/ml was more frequently with endometriosis followed by serous tumors . and in malignant tumors was more frequently with serous tumors followed by mucinous tumors. The highest sensitivity of ca125 level was in prediction postmenopausal benign tumors but with low specificity followed by prediction postmenopausal malignant tumors with high specificity. The quality of the test was higher in postmenopausal benign/malignant tumors compared to premenopausal tumors
