Objective: to study and evaluate the surgical operative process in the management of Benign Tumors and Leukoplakia in the Oral Cavity by using Laser CO2. Materials and methods: a total of 18 patients (10 males and 8 females) with mean age 50 years, and diagnosed with Benign tumorous Lesions or Leukoplakia on mucosa of the oral cavity, were treated by Vaporization by using CO2 Laser in Al-Assad university hospital. The postoperative complications were recorded within 7 days after the surgery, and the wounds was assigned until entire healing. Results: 8(44%) patients had week pain after 24 hour of surgery, and reduced to 2(11%) patients in the third day. Edema was seen by 8(44%) patients after 24 hour of surgery, and reduced to 1(6%) patient in the third day.5 (28%) patients showed disturbance within oral functions, and became 1(6%) patient in the third day. No complications were seen after 7 days of surgery. No infection or bleeding were recorded within following time.no statistically significant differences between Lesion kind and pain degree, and no relationship between Pain degree and Disturbance of the Lesions. Entire healing was satisfactory in all Wounds and no scar were seen . Conclusion: CO2 Laser is effective method in manage and minimize the complications during Healing process after the management of Benign Tumors and Leukoplakia in oral cavity.

Human gingival pigmentation cause esthetic problems and embarrassment, especially in women and patients with a gummy smile. This study was performed to see the effect and the clinical influence of CO2 laser on pigmented gingiva. This new technique performed for the first time in Syria.
Although malignant fibrous histiocytoma are uncommon in the oral cavity. We observed these neoplasms in jawbones in 7 cases (5 in the maxilla and 2 in the mandible) affecting males aged 24 to 51 years. Histologically the pleomorphic pattern is dom inant, and all patterns are characterized by active proliferative cells, and scattered histiocytes which stained positively by CD74 and CD68 These lesions cause radiolucencies with poorly defined margins and no radiographically distinct features. Differential diagnosis must involve osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma and fibrosarcoma . The treatmenm of choice is wide surgical excision.
Khat chewing is a deep-rooted habit in Yemen. It has many negative impacts on different body systems. The spread of khat chewing among adult males in Yemeni society needs special attention. Cathinone and cathine are the most stimulants of khat ing redients. Other ingredients could have other implication such as gastrointestinal carcinogenic tannins. the aim of this study is to Investigate chronic khatchewing effects on oral mucosa and the role of concurrent smoking.
There are wide uses of tin oxide thin films, especially in the field of transparent conductors, solar cells, gas sensors and piezoelectric materials. Laser deposition is considered one of the most important techniques followed to obtain these film s. In this research, we develop a technique to obtain homogeneous thin films of tin oxide depending on vaporization of pile targets of this oxide by continuous CO2 laser in the atmosphere, with a fan which guarantees obtaining homogenous films. Some of these films were annealed in different conditions. The optical microscope images revealed the presence of high degree of homogeneity, while the X-Ray study showed different crystallization grain orientations which depend on the preparation conditions. The preferred direction is (110). The optical absorption gives information about the value of the effective band gal for the samples before and after thermal annealing. We have found that some films have Eg = 3.2 ev. before annealing, and after long annealing they have Eg=1.3ev. In addition, the hard annealed thin films reveal anisotropy in the optical and electrical. Characteristics, they have different absorption coefficients in two perpendicular directions, also there is an electrical resistance anisotropy along these two directions especially after hard annealing. The Eb was 0.73 ev before annealing, it became 0.37 ev for one direction and 0.32 ev for the other direction.
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of gingivectomy by using traditional surgery procedure and Er:YaG laser depending on the following clinical indications: the pain after 2 hours and 24 hours of surgery procedure, healing of gum aft er surgery depending on rosiness and polypus indications after removing periodontal dressing and gingival bleeding during and after surgery.
