Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is an infrequent and often missed diagnosis among patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Unfortunately, SCAD can result in significant morbidities such as myocardial ischemia and infarcti
on, ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. Lack of angiographic recognition from clinicians is a major factor of under-diagnosis. With the advent of new imaging modalities, particularly with intracoronary imaging, there has been improved diagnosis of SCAD. The aim of this paper is to review the epidemiology, etiology, presentation, diagnosis and management of SCAD.
The incidence of vascular injuries resulting from war injuries has increased in Syria due to the conditions of war. It was previously considered rare and rare for a long time, This constituted a great challenge to vascular surgeons in particular, an
d surgeons in general, because of the seriousness of these injuries, whether the risk of vascular damage or the risk of accompanying injuries such as bone fractures or nerve injuries; etc. This may led to a disastrous results such as; partial or total limb amputation, or limb incompetence. These kinds of injuries were considered a real medical conditions, cause for several reasons, including: the lack of medical Experiences and medical staffs in this particular field, as well as the lack of diagnostic and treatment methods, and their high costs due to the conditions of war.
Introduction: Thrombocytopenia is considered to be a common complain of outpatients
and hospitalized ones, ranging from asymptomatic to severe death causing hemorrhage.
Diagnosing thrombocytopenia depends mainly on study of bone marrow which is an
invasive process. Complete Blood Count on automated hematology analyzers is widely
used nowadays with no extra cost, and platelets indices are part of the blood profile and
less often used in diagnosing thrombocytopenia.
Aim of the study: Investigation of a possible relationship between platelets indices (MPV
and PDW) and thrombocytopenia etiologies (hypoproductive or hyperdestructive), and
determine the sensitivity and specificity of platelets indices in the approach of
thrombocytopenia.
This study aimed at comparative in Communication Skills between who are under the
control of Behavioral Therapeutic and Behavioral & medicinal Therapeutic with Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder children.
A random sample were selected consis
t of 34 children with ADHD, who visit the psychoclinics
: 14 for first group and 20 for second group aged 6-9 years old.
Children with ADHD scaled by DSM-5, C. Kconners and Vineland Adaptive Behavior
scales (Communication).
The results didn’t reveal statistically significant differences in total score of
Communication between both groups. Besides there weren't statistically significant
differences in branch dimensions of Communication (the Expressive language, the
Receptive language, the Reading and writing) for children with ADHD between both
groups.
The research is considered an analytic study which aims to know different kinds of
knees injuries which some students of sport faculty of tishreen university have ,and the
reasons behind them and the places they occur in .
The study covered the fo
ur years` students and aimed to reach preventive
foundations the study courses may contain.
The study also contains recommendations associated with the infrastructure in the
place of training and ways of restraining lessons .
The study have involved (24) scorbutics out of (930) students which is the total
society of the study .
The results were as follows :
- The injures biggest rate is in athletics then comes the gymnasium .
- The most important reasons are overheating shortage and the lack of preparation.
-the given rest period is not enough as well as the period of physical treatment and
the sessions number.
-the absence of first aid when the injury occurs.
The research aimed to know different kinds of sportive injuries the students of sport
faculty of tishreen university have ,and the reasons behind them .
The study have involved (110) scorbutics out of (930) students which is the total
society of t
he study .
The results were as follows :
- The lower extremities are the most affected especially the knee and ankle joint.
- The biggest percentage was in the first years ( first and second year).
- The most important reasons are overheating shortage and the lack of preparation.
The injures biggest rate is in athletics then comes the gymnasium .
Pancytopenia is defined by reduction of all three formed elements of blood below the
normal reference . It may be manifestation of a wide variety of disorders , yet there exist
few published assessments of the frequencies of various etiologies , an
d these frequencies
exhibit substantial geographic variation . This study was carried out to investigate for and
to identify the causes of pancytopenia , to find out the frequency of different causes , to
determine the incidence of pancytopenia in relation to sex and age and to compare our
findings with those of other similar studies in different countries .This was a prospective
study conducted in Al-Asad and Tishreen academic hospitals in Lattakia city , Syria , ovar
a period of one year . A total of 113 patients with the diagnosis of pancytopenia were
enrolled in the study All patients underwent a detailed medical history and full physical
examination followed by blood sampling for the investigations i.e. complete blood count
with peripheral film , erythrocyte sedimentation rate ( ESR ) , liver function test , PT ,
HBsAg and Anti- HCV , ultrasonography of abdomen . All patients underwent bone
marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy for some patients. A definite female
preponderance was observed , 59 were female and 54 were male. The majority of cases
were encountered in the age group of more than sixty years old .Infiltration disorders were
the commonest cause that was observed in 38.1% followed by infections in 22.1% ,
megaloblastic anemia 12.4% , myelodysplasia 11.5%, aplastic anemia 7.1% ,
myelofibrosis 3.5% , hypersplenism 3.5% and systemic disorders 1.8% Detailed clinical
history and meticulous physical examination along with baseline hematological
investigations provide good information and help in systematic planning of further
investigations to diagnose pancytopenia's cause.
The primary objective of this research is to assess the state of the
road accidents’ data currently collected by using traditional text
reports in the Syrian Arab Republic. The followed approach
consisted of two main steps:
(1) Developing a compr
ehensive road accident report template
which contains all data items that should collected from a road
accident .
(2) Digitizing data from randomly selected traditional road accident
text reports into a computer database developed based on the
accident report template established in step 1.

Hypoxemia is defined as the condition of insufficient oxygen saturation of the blood. Hypoxemia considered as one of most dangerous problem encountered pulmonologists cardiologists and critical care nursing, it complicate the ICU stay of many childre
n every year with significant associated mortality, it causes more than two million deaths worldwide in children less than five years of age. The study aimed to identify the best pulse oximetry placement among three placements (thumb, big toe, and ear-lobe). The study was conducted in the department of intensive care, and incubators, in Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital, and Al-Assad Hospital in Lattakia city, the sample consisted of 70 children. The results revealed that both the thumb and toe sites has an equal sensitivity in detection of hypoxemia.
The current study aimed to examine the effects of the modified tandem
appliance on the dimensions of the airways.
Pretreatment and post-treatment cephalograms of twelve patients with
maxillary deficiency, (7 girls, 5 boys; mean age 8±0.5 years), w
ho were
seeking treatment at the Department of Orthodontics, Damascus
University, were studied. These patients were treated using the modified
tandem appliance with rapid maxillary expansion.
