This paper explores a variant of automatic headline generation methods, where a generated headline is required to include a given phrase such as a company or a product name. Previous methods using Transformer-based models generate a headline includin
g a given phrase by providing the encoder with additional information corresponding to the given phrase. However, these methods cannot always include the phrase in the generated headline. Inspired by previous RNN-based methods generating token sequences in backward and forward directions from the given phrase, we propose a simple Transformer-based method that guarantees to include the given phrase in the high-quality generated headline. We also consider a new headline generation strategy that takes advantage of the controllable generation order of Transformer. Our experiments with the Japanese News Corpus demonstrate that our methods, which are guaranteed to include the phrase in the generated headline, achieve ROUGE scores comparable to previous Transformer-based methods. We also show that our generation strategy performs better than previous strategies.

و يؤكد البحث أن عملية اختيار العنوان هي أعقل مرحلة يمر بها صاحب النَّص, و لقد احتلَّ مكانة خاصة في ساحات الإبداع الأدبي, مما جعل الحاجة ملحَّة لوضع علم خاص به, و مستقل, هو "علم العنونة".
و يأتي هذا البحث بوصفه محاولة في قراءة كتاب "سيَّاف الزهور" لمحمد الماغوط باستخدام كل تلك الأدوات الإجرائية, مع محاولة التقيد بحدود ما تسمح به اللياقة الأدبيَّة, و المعرفة السليمة المبنيَّة على ما يقوله النَّص, فلا يجبره على ما ليس فيه.
The contemporary interest has increased with the titles, so that some researchers
considered the titles as mini texts which contribute in forming a primary opinion that
motivate the reader and guide him to some meaning that the authors referring to
, and other
researchers considered the titles just a hypothesis for reading, not prejudice, because it
might lead the reader towards the meaning directly, and it might deceive and mislead him
as well, which make the creative texts poetically bigger and richer, and in both cases the
title remains the first textual episode that the reader’s awareness meet with the creative
text, regardless the type of the titles: realistic, equivocation, symbolism and others.
My choice has fallen into this research because of the variety that Ghassan Wannous
text stories’ have shown, which indicates the awareness of the writer about the importance
of the titles, and the role it might perform in serving the textual meaning, and this is what
this research aspires to approach and highlights.
This study tries to show the importance of the story title and its
significance in children's stories. It displays the sense of the subject and
point to the resources of titles of the children's stories, through critical
studying of groups of children's stories in the Arab world.
