This study aimed to identify the difficulties that hinder the use of Internet among students of the Syrian Virtual University. It also tried to know the impact of variables: gender, academic specialization, owning a computer and provision of Internet service. The study was conducted on a sample of 400 students, 200 male students and 200 female students of educational programs. Results showed that the main difficulties that hinder the use of Internet were the student's lack of knowledge of the importance of the Internet and aim of its use. Students also believed that the disadvantages of this service were more than its advantages. Results did not show gender-based significant differences; however, there were significant differences in these difficulties attributed to variables of computer ownership and availability of Internet service in favour of students who have the computers and Internet service.
The aim of this study is to introduce modern means of communication (communication and social networking sites), through their impact directly or indirectly on the age of marriage, that is on youths whose ages range between 15 and 45, being the grou p active in various forms, including marriage. The study also tries to identify the size of the impact of technology on the lives of young people in the age of marriage and its effect on their choices and decisions in relation to marriage at a certain age all of that is to be achieved through: - Knowledge of the extent of use of Internet and social networking site by that category of youth. - Measuring the impact of information technology on the change of customs and traditions in society including Latakia with respect to the decision to marry by the young of particular age. - Tracing the direct impact of the quality of the material presented on the Internet including pornographic films on the studied group. One of the most important findings of the study: - Results of the study show the presence of a statistically significant relationship between the means of communication through the variables gender and place of residence. - Other modern means of communication including multi-cellular connection to the Internet especially social networking sites have a similar impact. The study recommends introducing programs and organizational plans to help youths lead a more balanced life and use the new technology in a positive way.
This research aims at identifying the obstacles facing graduate students when they use the Internet for the purposes of scientific research by answering the following questions: 1 - What are the obstacles faced by graduate students while using the Internet for research purposes? 2 - Is there a difference between the answers of graduate students as regardschallenging the obstacles they face when using the Internet for the purposes of scientific research? The research employs descriptive analytical method by using questionnaires composed of (30) distributed over three areas, the research found the following results: 1 - Most resolution phrases constituted obstacles to graduate students when using the Internet for the purposes of scientific research substantially and medium. 2 - There are no statistically significant differences between the mean of graduate students’ answers at the University of Damascus concerning their challenge for degrees of constraints of Internet use in scientific research; there are significant differences between the mean of students’ answers concerning their challenge for degrees of constraints of Internet use in scientific research due to the academic variable level in favor of Ph.D. students.
This study aimed to investigate social studies teachers use of computer and internet and to find out if there are any statistically significant differences among them that can be attributed to gender qualification and school stage.
This study aimed to determine the role of direct marketing through its means (direct mail, internet, catalog, phone) in improving customer satisfaction at Tishreen University in Lattakia Governorate. The researcher followed the descriptive and analyt ical approach in his study, and a set of methods, including relying on secondary and primary data through a questionnaire that was completed It was designed, and it was distributed to (179) respondents, of which (175) were retrieved, and (171) questionnaires were valid for analysis, and the research community was formed from clients of Tishreen University in Lattakia Governorate. The study concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between Tools of direct marketing (direct mail, internet, catalog, phone) and customer satisfaction. The average of the responses of the sample members for the direct mail variable was 2.41, which indicates that the university does not send its service offers to clients via direct mail, and that the university does not send its offers to current clients only, and that the university does not formulate mail messages (marketing offers) in a personal capacity, and that the rates The response is not very high due to the use of direct mail.
