Approach for the integration of filtering techniques with the search engines

We offer in this approach the integration of search engines with filtering techniques, through the dynamic relationship of hybridization between collaborative filtering and content based filtering in order to solve the past limitations and improve precision and recall of retrieved documents. The approach uses Domain ontology model in the representation of user profile to reduce errors and confusion resulting from consideration for user profile as a single entity, as well as taking advantage from user activity for adaptation of user profile to reflect the state of user.

Enhancing Universities’ Libraries Activities Using Data Mining and Business Intelligence Techniques

Through this study we will explain the application of data mining and business intelligence using the data existed in the library of the Arab International University. This data has been linked to the data of the students on the academic system of the university. The study will also answer questions that affect the work of the educational institution in general and the library in particular, propose solutions to improve the work of the library and its services, enhance library working methods, and specify indicators related to the role of information resources in the educational operation.

Improving Arabic Information Retrieval Results Semantically Using Ontology

This research proposes a new way to improve the search outcome of Arabic semantics by abstractly summarizing the Arabic texts (Abstractive Summary) using natural language processing algorithms(NLP),Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) and techniques of measuring Semantic Similarity in Arabic WordNet Ontology.

CONTEXT-BASED INFORMATION AND TRUST ANALYSIS

Most of the well-known search engines such as Google are text search engines that match the vocabulary entered only by the user and retrieve a list of results. The search engine model proposed in this thesis achieves a better solution that does not match the vocabulary entered by the user only, but rather matches other words that are related. With the vocabulary statements in the ontologies supporting it.

استخدام اللغة العربية في نظم استرجاع المعلومات

يهدف البحث إلى دراسة خصائص اللغة العربية المؤثرة في عملية استرجاع المعلومات والتعرف على المشاكل الناجمة عن استخدام اللغة العربية في نظم استرجاع المعلومات بمختلف انواعها وايجاد حلول ومقترحات لها. والمقارنة بين ادوات واستراتيجيات البحث المستخدمة في نظم استرجاع المعلومات من حيث تاثيرها على معدلات التحقق للوثائق المسترجعة ودراسة أثر استخدام او عدم استخدام تقنيات معالجة اللغة العربية في الحواسيب (المدقق النحوي، المحلل الصرفي وغيرها) على معالجة خصائص اللغة العربية (الترادف، المشترك اللفظي ...).
