The installation and care of urinary catheters is one of the tasks entrusted to nursing personnel, as the urinary tract is a passageway for the excretion of many hazardous wastes that are excreted with urine. Unfortunately, in some cases, the surviva
l of this duct may require the installation of a urinary catheter. This procedure usually weakens the defenses of the natural urethra, and in some cases this may cause dangerous infections that may reach the kidneys; Accordingly, the nursing staff must work to relieve the discomfort associated with the urinary catheter; By performing this procedure according to the approved steps and protocols, this study aimed to identify the level of knowledge and performance of the nursing staff about the nursing care of patients with urinary catheterization among 46 nurses, who were selected by the convenient sample method. The data were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researcher himself. Where the study showed that 93.5% of the participants had a good level of correct information, and that 6.5% of them had a moderate level of correct information. The performance of 95.7% of them was good before starting the catheter installation, and during the installation the performance of 82.6% of them was good, while after the completion of the installation 89.1% of them performed well. The study recommended the development of a written protocol related to urinary catheter insertion and its indications to be implemented and patient education about it, and regular and continuous updating of evidence-based guidelines for nursing procedures.
The objective of this study was to compare between two methods of estrus synchronization (progesterone-impregnated intravaginal sponges and intramuscular (IM) injection of prostaglandin hormone) within the reproductive season and their effect on some
reproductive parameters in Awassi ewes. Thirty ewes were equally divided into two groups (G1 and G2). Intravaginal sponges impregnated with 60 mg of Medroxy Acetate Progesterone (MAP) were inserted into the ewes of the first group for 14 d, and were injected at the time of the withdrawal of sponges with 500 IU of equine Chorionic Gonadotrophin (eCG) at the first group ewes (G1). The animals in second group (G2) were injected with double dose of 125μg of prostaglandin (PGF2α) intramuscularly (IM) at 9 days apart. The ewes were naturally mated with fertile rams (ram / 5 ewes). The results showed that there were no significant differences between groups (G1 and G2) in the estrus response (100% and 86.67%, respectively), while there were significant differences in the average time to onset of estrus (38.8 ± 4.45 h and 53.07 ± 4.13 h) and the average duration of estrus (33.20 ± 3.09 h and 28.61 ± 3.59 h, respectively). Also, the pregnancy rate was significant difference (P<0.05) in group G1 compared to group G2 (93.33% vs. 73.33%). we conclude from the study that the estrus synchronization using intravaginal sponges is an effective method to achieve good reproductive performance ewes and get a high estrus rate and high pregnancy rate, compared to the injection of the hormone prostaglandin in Awassi ewes, within the local Syrian conditions.
The quality of life of people is affected by their health status. Diabetes is a disease that greatly affects the quality of life of patients; the objective of this descriptive study was to identify the quality of life of patients with diabetes who we
re treated with insulin. The sample included 100 diabetic patients receiving insulin treatment. They were selected in the covieunt sample. The data were collected using a pre-prepared questionnaire by researcher for this purpose. The study showed that 60% of patients had a good lifestyle according to diet. And that 56% of them have a moderate quality of life related to the drug, and only 8% of them have a good quality of life related to sport and social activity. The researcher recommended that health education be provided about the appropriate sport for diabetics. And the design of educational programs planned on scientific basis according to the actual needs of patients and life.
The nature of leukemia and its different treatments may be the same for all patients, but the difference in patients' reactions, how they respond to the infection and how they correspond to it, from the beginning and entering into symptoms, is determ
ined by several factors that vary from patient to patient, The ability of the patient to be successful Compatibility depends on the experience gained from the family and society in general, as well as on the extent of success in building a positive self-esteem and appreciation of them, so this descriptive study aimed to identify the level of educational needs of patients with leukemia 50 adult patients with leukemia in Lattakia were selected by the convenient sample method. The data were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researcher, The study showed that 60% of patients have a high level of learning needs associated with symptoms, and that 60% of them have an average level of learning needs associated with the axis of physical activity, and 50% of them have an average level of learning needs associated with diet. The study recommended the development of educational programs for patients with leukemia, to increase their knowledge about leukemia, its treatment and diet, so that these programs involve patients and their families.
The obesity epidemic in children is a major global burden on public health, with many causes leading to childhood problems that may extend into adulthood. Pediatric nurses are on the front line to assess and manage childhood obesity, and their knowle
dge of childhood obesity is at the core of their role in addressing this problem. Therefore, the present descriptive study aimed to evaluate the available sample information of 50 pediatric nurses on childhood obesity in Tishreen University Hospital using a questionnaire developed by the researcher. This study found that the highest percentage of nurses answered correctly about the causes of obesity and its predisposing factors as well as their complications and management procedures. It recommended regular training and education courses for nurses, including the education of parents of children who are predisposed to obesity in nursing procedures, and further research on pediatric nurses' information on childhood obesity and its influencing factors
The objective of this study was to compare the effect of using intravaginal sponges with intramuscular (IM) injection of prostaglandin hormone within the reproductive season and their effect on Lambing rate and birth rate in Awassi ewes. Thirty ewes
were equally divided into two groups (G1 and G2). Intravaginal sponges impregnated with 60 mg of Medroxy
Progesterone Acetate (MAP) were inserted into the ewes of the first group for 14 days, and were injected at the time of the withdrawal of sponges with 500 IU of equine Chorionic Gonadotrophin (eCG) at the first group ewes (G1). The ewes in second group (G2) were
injected with double dose of 125 μg of prostaglandin (PGF2α) intramuscularly (IM) at 9 days apart. The ewes were naturally mated with fertile rams (ram / 5 ewes). The results showed that there were significant differences between groups (G1 and G2) in the Lambing rate (93.33% vs. 73.33%). The ewes of group (G1) outperformed the ewes of group (G2) in the
percentage of twin births (42.86% vs. 18.18%), and the birth rate (1.43 vs. 1.18) with significant differences (P<0.05). We conclude from the study that treating ewes by using intravaginal sponges with eCG injection was better than the method of prostaglandin
injection in raising the Lambing rate and birth rate in Syrian Awassi ewes, within the local Syrian conditions
This study addresses the problem of profitability in insurance companies and aims to analyze and discussion the impact of liquidity and capital adequacy and debt rate of National Insurance Company. Assuming that there is impact statistically signific
ant for each of the independent variables (liquidity, capital adequacy, debt rate) in the dependent variable (ROA). By using simple regression analysis to study the relationship between each dependent variable and a dependent variable and use the multiple regression analysis to study the impact of the independent variables together in the dependent variable. By using SPSS statistical analysis program. During the time from 2009 to 2016. The study showed inverse correlation but not statistically significant between (liquidity ratio and debt rate) and (ROA), and inverse correlation with statistically significant between (capital adequacy ratio) and (ROA).
The most important results of this study are that the National Insurance Company has a high level of solvency to ensure the risk of failure to recover part of its funds and this ensures that no reduction in the capital adequacy ratio (margin of solvency) is less than 150%, which is the permissible limit. In addition, that the liquidity ratio increased during the period and this confirms that the National Insurance Company is work to take its investment decisions to not exposing to a financial difficulty.
