Nifedipine is one of the most used calcium channel blocking agents. Due to its low aqueous solubility, it often shows low and irregular bioavailability after oral administration. Nifedipine has short half-life so it has to be administered many times a day. Immediate-release formulations increase the risk of myocardial infarction and mortality. This research aims to prepare dual-function drug delivery system to enhance nifedipine solubility using solid dispersion technique, and extend its release by incorporating these dispersions in matrix tablets. 32 Factorial design was employed; two independent variables, Poloxamer 188 and Ethyl cellulose, to improve solubility and extend release respectively, were used in 3 levels. The prepared tablets were examined, and succeeded in extending nifedipine release up to 12 hrs. The equations that link the dependent and independent variables were obtained, through which tablet hardness and the released amount after 1, 4 and 6 hours could be predicted.
The aim of the present investigation was to improve the dissolution properties of glimepiride. The oral antidiabetic drug, glimepiride ,was chosen as a model drug because of its low dose and poor solubility.

Sulfated ions loaded on natural Syrian zeolite were prepared by impregnation method of zeolite samples in aqueous solution of ammonium sulfate with different concentrations. After that, the samples were dried at 1100C Followed by calcinations at 6000 C. The Characterization tests have been done of prepared catalysts using X.R.D, FTIR, TG-DTA methods and by measurement of surface aria. A new phase of sulfated elements has been formed as a result of binding SO42- ions as sulfated complex coordinated with metal elements. The catalytic activity of sample in polyethylene cracking reaction was increased directly with the percent of sulfate ions.
Some samples of alumina supporting with sulfate ions and molybdenium were prepared by impregnation method. Supported samples were calcinated at 550°C for 6h. Presence of sulfate ions and molybdenium lead to decreasing of the specific surface area o f alumina, and in the ease of molybdenium the decreasing value was higher. The total pore volume was decreased with the pore size was increased. XRD patterns showed that the incorporation of sulfate ions and molybdenium did not affect crystalin structure of alumina. FTIR spectra showed the bonding between sulfate ionsmolybdenium and alumina. The TG-DTA studies showed that the losses mass was decreased when the sulfate ions and molybdenium were incorporated, sulfate ions and molybdenium oxide decomposed at ~700°C and ~800°C respectively .
