This study is devoted to the durability of bituminous mixtures,
including the effects of different gradations, compaction
temperatures and immersion time on the durability potential of
mixtures.
The Syrian pharmaceutical industry is a real tributary for
development in Syria. Like other industries, pharmaceutical
industry suffers from subordination to the West, in the sense that it
collects pharmaceuticals according to licenses from intern
ational
companies. Research and development are almost virtually nonexistent
in it. On the other hand, the faculties of pharmacy provide
planty of contribute with abundance of scientific researches, which
can play an important role for the benefit of the companies,
cooperate with them, and contribute in providing them with
applications of new drugs. The most important results of the search,
are the weak interaction between the faculties of pharmacy and the
pharmaceutical industry, and the fact that the pharmaceutical
companies do not benefit from the results of the research of the
faculties of pharmacy, regardless of the conviction of the possibility
to benefit from these researches through the development of a
mechanism for fruitful cooperation for both parties.
Aniline point is an indicator of chemical composition of motor
gasoline and diesel fuel and of their aromatic and paraffinic contents
in particular. A significant relationship between the research octane
number of unleaded motor gasoline and its a
niline point was
investigated. This relationship was evident in particular in the case
of aromatic and naphthenic compounds with higher octane numbers.
A correlation equation with a correlation coefficient of 95% was
found with an acceptable average error.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate whether a relationship exists between bilirubin, RDW, and prognostic factors for gastric cancer (tumor stage - tumor markers). Methods: The study included 112 individuals admitted to Tishreen Univer
sity Hospital and the Oncology Center in Latakia during the period between July 2018 and December 2019. They were distributed into two groups as follow: the group of gastric cancer patients included 56 patients (33 males and 23 females) between the ages of 37 and 83 years, and the control group included 56 individuals (34 males and 22 females) between the ages of 37 and 80 years. The stage of gastric cancer was evaluated based on the AJCC (American Joint Committee on Cancer) cancer staging system. Patients were interrogated, and social and behavioral information were obtained, then venous blood samples were obtained for biomedical evaluation. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS version 25 software. Results: Bilirubin and RDW were significantly associated with the prognostic factors of gastric cancer. RDW was positively associated with the tumor stage and tumor markers (CEA and CA19-9). Total bilirubin (TBIL) and indirect bilirubin (IBIL) were negatively associated with these factors, while direct bilirubin (DBIL) showed no significant association. Patients with gastric cancer had higher RDW than healthy controls, while total bilirubin (TBIL) and indirect bilirubin (IBIL) were significantly decreased. The results of our study indicate that both RDW and bilirubin could be potential prognostic factor for gastric cancer.
To compare total and subtotal gastrectomy performed by
laparoscopic technique with those performed by open surgery, and to
determine whether laparoscopic surgery has an important role and
advantages in gastric resection.
