A pilot unit was constructed and operated to study the ability of treating polluted water using biological treatment. The experimental unit consists of water sprayer unit that ensure wetting of the filtered media and distributing water in a homogenous manner as well as increasing the dissolved oxygen concentration in water. The sprayer unit is followed by a biological filter; the area of the filtered media was (13) m2. The developed biological film placed on the filtered media will dismantle the organic matter, which reduce nitrates to nitrite then to a nitrogen gas. The filter was connected to an aeration basin where the suspended growth was archived. The pilot unit was operated depending on the water was taking from a manhole nearby the residential unit number 18. The average efficiency of BOD5 removing was 69.4% and of nitrate, removing was 34%. The results showed that this system can improve water's characteristics.

The floatation unit technology is considered a more advanced methodology than the sedimentation approach as it is more effective in separating most contaminators regardless of its size no matter how small and tiny it was and irrespective of the mi nimal density difference between the water and most contaminators. The sedimentation approach depends on using assisting water that contains more dissolved air than the normal water under the regular conditions and therefore, once the over saturated water (assisting water) enters the container of the floatation unit filled with contaminated water, small bubbles will formulate immediately sticking most of the contaminators that exist in the contaminated water, whether small of big leading to a reduction of its density and thereof floating on surface during a short period of time. The floating sludge can be removed mechanically.
This research discusses the problem of drinking water shortage and distribution instability in Salamyeh city due to the current crisis. Salamyeh city dependents on Orontes River as a source for drinking water through Hama water supply facility, wh ich sufferes repeated sabbotage attacks. As a result, an emergency measure was implemented by depending on local water sources within the city, which are deep wells that produce water of sulphuric nature.Three desalination plants were provided to treat local sulphuric water producing suitable safe water, but these plants production is way less than the city needs.
This Research presents a detailed study and practical design for the construction, programming and implementation of the system to receive SMS messages sent from a mobile phone or more to the SIM card placed with in the circuit (GSM-MODULE) connected in turn with a microcontroller which translates and shows this message on the optical matrix.
Plastic and rubber products considered of being a great importance to humans, but their residues and wastes are a real environmental disaster. They are dumped in fields, streams and forests or buried in large landfills that pose a serious hazard th at needs to work on solve it in the best possible way. On the other hand, the economic problems caused by the erosion of concrete cement have made it the major problem of infrastructure in the industrialized countries. Over the past three decades, this problem has reached alarming proportions, which led to high repair costs, whether in concrete or in reinforcing steel, Especially acidic media due to concrete permeability of acid rainwater, where these costs exceeded initial construction amounts in some cases. This paper deals with the recycling of used tires and some types of plastic waste to be used in the preparation of insulating materials for water and heat at a low cost compared to the insulation materials currently used in the construction process, in addition to the preparation of floor tiles for internal and external use.
