The study will examine the effect of changing the diameter of the longitudinal and lateral reinforcement on the carrying capacity of the concrete columns and compare the value of the compressive strength of concrete, which is associated with the theoretical relations provided by (Mander), (Park et all) by building an analytical model using finite element Program ANSYS.

This research paper revolves around studding the repairing of reinforced concrete columns which are subjected to an axial compression load, by using ferrocement jackets containing two layers of Welded Wire Meshes (WWMs), which are in turn encapsula ted in high strength mortar. The experiments were carried out at the concrete lab in the faculty of civil engineering, Damascus University. The results were analyzed in order to determine the effects of repairing technique on Ultimate Compressive Strength, Ductility of the Column and Failure Modes. Empirical results confirmed the efficiency of using locally available welded wire meshes in repairing of reinforced concrete columns.
This research includes an experimental study and a nonlinear analysis using the finite element method of reinforced concrete beams with large opening in body that exist in shear zone . The tested beams are simply supported with rectangular section and without additional reinforcement in opening region. The opening is square in shape with variable dimensions and constant distance from the support . Studying the effect of changing length of the opening on the behavior of the reinforced concrete beams was already completed. The modes of cracks , (load-deflection ) relationship, ultimate load and the mode of failure for all beams were determinate . The study showed that existence an opening in shear region of beams reduce the strength of beams and affect on the mode of shear failure , and any addition in the depth of the opening lead to early cracks , more deflections and less ultimate failure load .
Sandwich panels are locally produced with two faces of metal those which cover a hard adhesive and thick core of polyurethane. The widely Extend of these panels increase day for day as structural elements imitating the function necessities of the e ngineering construction. The use of those panels as carried structural elements in wall or ceiling structures can coincide with a submission of their sections materials, especially the two faces to the change in a nature of the normal stress acted on them due to the alternate of the panel part bending statically or dynamically when the alternate was produced from the change of the loading acting direct on it or from the alternate of the live loading on the adjacent fields of the continuous systems from it. The evaluation of the sustain capacity and stability of the sandwich elements consisted of such panels performs depended to the critical stress value leaded to arise of the wrinkling waves of the compressive face of the panel that it values depended first on the quality and properties of the production. The research handled the testing of the sustainability and stability of the local produced sandwich panel due to the alternate in a nature of it stress statically as a carried structural element in the structural system built from such panels. The conclusions of the research showed that this produced panel follows a linear behavior too even in the case of the change of its bending direction or stress nature of its face, especially in the loading steps coincided at least to the arising of the critical wrinkling stress, whereas the value of this stress decreases 40% from its value for the loading or bending case of the panel in only one direction.
Blast load caused emptying a large amount of energy very quickly parts of the second causing a significant increase of pressure, in addition to generating high temperatures because of the high speed often ends local effects of the explosion before the bridge begins to respond, which causing major damage in the bridge. Most of bridge design codes didn’t take in account during design the blast load, as well there are no codes inspection on bridges the blast load. The research aims to study and to facilitate the understanding of damages caused by explosion load on elements of road bridges through the facts of explosion and photographs the cases of damages occurring practical and realistic, and also through some computer models. It has been in the research review the impact of the blast load on the slab bridges. The distinction between the case of the impact of the blast load at top and bottom of slab bridge. So the case of the bombing at the top slab bridge leading to increase the binding moments and shear forces, in against the case of blasting at the bottom of slab bridges leads to act opposite load for design loads. Also studied blast load on bridge beams and illustrated resulting addional cross sections. Also explained the effect of blast load on bridge piers and abutments, and the forms of caused damages.
This research studies the behavior of the soft story in RC structures using static analysis and dynamic analysis, where studying models of RC structures containing soft story where this story results from increased hieght of story than the rest st orys, was conducted static analysis using Nonliner pushover analysis and dynamic analysis using Nonliner time history analysis
