This research paper revolves around studding the repairing of reinforced concrete columns which are subjected to an axial compression load, by using ferrocement jackets containing two layers of Welded Wire Meshes (WWMs), which are in turn encapsulated in high strength mortar. The experiments were carried out at the concrete lab in the faculty of civil engineering, Damascus University. The results were analyzed in order to determine the effects of repairing technique on Ultimate Compressive Strength, Ductility of the Column and Failure Modes. Empirical results confirmed the efficiency of using locally available welded wire meshes in repairing of reinforced concrete columns.

The study will examine the effect of changing the diameter of the longitudinal and lateral reinforcement on the carrying capacity of the concrete columns and compare the value of the compressive strength of concrete, which is associated with the theoretical relations provided by (Mander), (Park et all) by building an analytical model using finite element Program ANSYS.
This research deals with producing structural lightweight aggregates concrete (the density is less than 1920kg/m3 and compressive strength is more than 17.2Mpa according to ACI 213R-03) by using scoria aggregates. Several concrete mixes have been d esigned with different proportions of scoria aggregates. The cement content (c=450 kg/m3), the ratio (w/c = 0.36) were kept constant in all the mixes. Different tests were performed to determine some properties of product concrete such as density, compressive strength and splitting tensile strength. The density of product concrete was in the range of (1752-1917 kg/m3), compressive strength was in the range of (22.2-32.8Mpa), and the splitting strength was in the range of (2.3-3.2Mpa). The study demonstrated the possibility of production concrete achieved the Requirements of the American code ACI 213R-03 for structural lightweight concrete.
This research deals with the minimum cost design of reinforced concrete T-beams according to the Syrian code. The aim is to minimize the total cost of the beam while respecting all the design requirements. Traditional method depend on a set of supp ositions, in the opposite this methodology aim to reach the optimal solution among a set of constraints with respect the objective function. So that, using this methodology leading to the minimum cost reinforced section design. This research is shown that the problem can be formulated in a nonlinear mathematical programming format. Several cases are used to explain the applicability of the formulation in accordance with the current Syrian code. Traditional method of Syrian code has been used to design sections in this paper, utilizing the nonlinear programming method provided by Lingo14.0 software from LINDO Systems Inc. The comparison of the results shows that important saving can be obtained at the total cost of a reinforced concrete T-beams design.
