The acousto-optic filters that depend on the interaction technology between the optical and ultrasonic waves are considered a high- performance filters as they have the largest tuning range compared to other filters types. These filters can be used in optical WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) networks. This work aims to study two types of these filters, one operates according to the non-collinear type of interaction, whereas the other type operates according to the quasicollinear type of interaction, and compare between these two filters types from the practical side. Thus, this work aims to show the tilt angle effect of the acoustic wave on the filter's design and its efficiency in electing the desired optical wave length, in addition to compare the frequency curves related to these angles in terms of their sensitivity to the changes of the incidence angle. The importance of this work lies in proving the efficiency of the filters operating according to the quasi-collinear type of interaction and their ability to achieve the high values of quality factor.

Optical filter is one of the most accurate and important elements in pure optical communication network which uses wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). This research includes studying Acousto Optic Tunable Filter (AOTF) in linear anisotropic mediu m, which depends on the interaction principle between optical waves and acoustic waves. This paper describes simulating and testing the AOTF in MATLAB/Simulink software which is a strong tool for simulating and designing various systems. We have achieved an AOTF model, and created special block which could be added to MATLAB Simulink Library. We have also evaluated the performance of this filter and its ability to select one wavelength between the set combined by WDM. Moreover, we have studied the effect of acoustic wave frequency, its velocity, the properties of the crystal used in manufacturing it, and other influent parameters, along the selected wavelength.
This research aims to study the effect of the tilt angle of PV panels on the daily discharge a water pump powered by solar energy, and to determine the optimal tilt of these panels during summer months in the Syrian coast. The results demonstrated t hat the change of the tilt angle of PV panels from (25˚) to (35.5˚), has no effect on the curve of the solar radiation intensity and flow rate. However the resulting impact was represented by low amount of solar energy falling onto PV panels, resulting in a reduction in hydraulic energy of the pump and consequently low flow rate per day. The study showed that the amount of water flow rate at the two angels (25˚ and 22˚) for the tilt of panels was close, with preference for the angle (22˚). Reduction of water amount from one month to another during the months (June, July, August) didn't exceed (2.5%), while it was (7.5%) in September. At angle (35.5˚), water amount was approximately constant during June, July and August, while it decreased by (6%) in September. Flowing water largely decreased at angle (35.5˚) in comparison with the two angles (25˚and 22˚), so the reduction was (13, 12, 9 and 7.5%), respectively in June, July, August and September.
This research discusses the exponential function of the explosion load and the pressure decay factor in this function (a). After that, four functions with four different values of the pressure decay factor are studied, and that is for the un-damped S DOF system, where the equation of motion is formed and solved. Then, using MATLAB software for every function, the relationship between (Yst/Y(t)) and t/T is plotted, and that enables plotting the response spectrum for each one. Moreover, a comparison between the spectra of the last three functions with the first one that describes the triangular explosion load is drawn. This research has concluded that for a certain range of (a), it is possible, and with acceptable approximation, to use the spectra of triangular load, but beyond that it is better to use the spectra of exponential load.
This research includes a simulation of optical code division multiple access system transceiver (OCDMA) of the spectral amplitude coding (SAC). The study investigates the effect of the pulse generator type used in the transmitter SAC-OCDMA of direc t detection technique and the effect of the length of the optical fiber on the signal quality factor (Q) and on the bit error ratio( BER) . In addition a comparison is made between the SACOCDMA system of direct detection technique and another one of complementary subtraction technique in terms of signal quality factor and the bit error ratio when using the same parameters for both systems.
Background: Diabetes mellitus is a leading public health problem with increasing incidence and long term complications. These complications are mainly a consequence of macro-vascular and microvascular damages of the target organs. The incidence of several pulmonary abnormalities during the course of Diabetes Mellitus because the presence of an extensive microvascular circulation and abundant connective tissue in the lungs , raises the possibility that lung tissue may be a target organ in diabetic patients. Objectives: This research is designed to study the impact of DM and both the duration of the disease and the glycemic control on pulmonary function tests. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study carried out on 75 patients with type II diabetes mellitus patients at Tishreen University Hospital in the period between October 2015 and October 2016 .We compared with a control group consisted of 75 non diabetic healthy persons . Measurement of HbA1C , fasting plasma glucose (FPG) , and spirometry were made to all subjects and the following pulmonary function parameters were recorded: Forced Expiratory Volume in the first second (FEV1), Forced Vital Capacity (FVC), and Forced Expiratory Volume percent (FEV1/ FVC%) . Results were analyzed by calculating Mean ± SD, using X2 test , Karl Pearson correlation and ANOVA test. Results: The mean FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC% values were low in diabetics (p value <0.05) compared to healthy non-diabetics (control group). Also, uncontrolled diabetics show a greater decrease in these values than controlled diabetics. There was a greater decrease in these values in patients with long period of disease . Conclusion: The findings of the present study suggest that, the lung is a target organ for damage in DM and diabetics show a decrease in PFTs with a restrictive pattern lesion compared with non-diabetics . And this deterioration is exaggerated in uncontrolled diabetics and with the long duration of DM .
