يؤدي النموذج الخطي المتقطع للنمو السكاني (نموذج LESLIE) دوراً هاماً في ديناميكية السكان النظرية و التطبيقية. و بمناقشة موجزة لهذا النموذج يمكننا معرفة الحالة التي يمكن أن يتزايـد بهـا السكان الإناث في مجتمع سكاني ما متوقف عن النمو، فيمـا إذا انخفضـت معـدلات الخصـوبة العمرية_النوعية و بشكل تناسبي مباشر عن مستوى الإحـلال (معـدل إعـادة التكـاثر الصـافي 1=NRR) لجيلين متعاقبين و تحت افتراض ثبات الوفاة بمرور الزمن. توصل (Keyfitz) عام ١٩٧١ إلى وضع سكاني مقارب لنموذج سكاني ديناميكي مسـتمر الـذي وضعه (Lotka) ، لنفترض ثبات الوضع الأولي للسكان فتعطي النتيجة حداً أدنى للمجتمع السكاني المتوقف نهائياً، و الذي يكون تركيبه العمري ذا نموٍ سكاني صفري، مع الأخـذ بالحسـبان الفتـرة الزمنية، و التي بها يقترب الوضع المفترض من وضع المجتمع السكاني المتوقف. و أخيراً سنوضح التحليل الجبري للنمو الصفري من خلال نموذج العمليات العشوائية المتعددة.

ركز البحث على الدور الأساسي لتقليل مستوى الفقر و علاقته بالتخطيط العائلي كوسيلة
تخفيض النمو السكاني، ثم جرى التعرّض لمناقشة الحجج الأساسية المرتبطة بقوة بحالة
الفقر كمحدد رئيس للنمو السكاني، إذ قدمنا تحليلاً تجريبياً لإثبات هذه الفرضية و ذلك من
خل
ال بعض المؤشرات المرتبطة بالفقر مثل : متوسط الدخل الفردي و الأجل المتوقع
و معرفة القراءة و الكتابة - و تمثل هذه المؤشرات علاقة ارتباطية عكسية قوية مع كل من
معدل المواليد الخام و معدل الخصوبة الكلية. و قد توصلنا بالتحليل إلى اقتراح استراتيجية
ثنائية لتخفيض النمو السكاني:
١ - الاهتمام بالتخطيط العائلي لتخفيض الولادات غير المرغوب فيها ؛
٢ - الاهتمام بتقليل الفقر لتخفيض الولادات المرغوب فيها.
تعدُّ دراسة السكان و مشكلاتهم الشغل الشاغل لكثير من الباحثين في دول العالم
المختلفة، و خصوصًا في البلدان النامية حيث تزداد المشكلة تعقيدًا.
يتصدى البحث لدراسة النمو السكاني في سلطنة عمان و أثره في توزيعهم
الجغرافي و تراكيبهم العمرية و النوعية و ال
مهنية. لذا فقد وجب العمل على معرفة
عناصر النمو السكاني بفرعيه الطبيعي و الميكانيكي، استنادًا إلى بيانات تتعلق بتلك
العناصر و المتمثلة بالتعدادات العامة للسكان. شملت الدراسة حجم السكان و تغيراته
خلال فترة الدراسة. و كذلك النمو الطبيعي المرتفع للسكان العمانيين مقارنة بالدول
المتقدمة و بعض الدول النامية، و أثر ذلك في تراكيب السكان. و دراسة الهجرة و أثرها
في السكان و تراكيبهم.
This research aims to shed light on the reality of population growth and its
components and highlighting the characteristics and changes in the educational structure of
the population in Syria during the period studied. This study also aims at know
ing the
position occupied by the population in Syria on the steps of the educational ladder, through
the analysis of the percentages for each stage of educational levels.
One of the most distinctive results that have been reached, that there is a direct
relation yet weak and insignificant statistically between the changes of the population
growth rate and those of the educational structure in Syria. Accordingly, those changes of
the educational system are related to other changes than the ones of the population growth
rate such as the education, government expenditure on education and higher education
assimilation policies ,etc.
Cities form the major urban environment that human beings live and do their various activities, but the
population pressure and the increasing population density in cities led to the expansion of cities either
spontaneously or according to plans re
leased by governments aiming to improve expansion regions to be
new growth centers that positively contribute in supporting cities that suffer from overcrowding,
deterioration of facilities and the lack of spaces suitable for urban expansion. The process of developing
specific classification standards that take into account the privacy of those growth centers, will contribute
to put the proper methods to achieve desired objectives of its establishment in terms of quality and
quantity at all levels and sectors, in particular the residential suburbs due to its important role, adjacency
to cities, urban and social role, and the mutual influence between suburbs and cities.
