This study is concerned with the variations in annual and seasonal surface air temperature in Syria, depending on the data from 12 different meteorological stations in Syria. The analysis of surface temperature trends was performed using Least squares (linear regression) and Moving- averaging filters according to Gaussian low- pass filter. Fast Fourier Transformation was used for the analysis of periodicity for the annual mean surface temperature. The results of linear regression showed that the general trend of annual and seasonal temperature in all stations was positive except Latakya. The results of annual and seasonal temperature, fluctuations revealed the existence of important warming period in all stations starting from 1993-1994 for the average of annual and winter temperature while summer, autumn and spring temperatures averages were above the mean during the study period. Periodicities analysis showed that the surface air temperature seems to be affected by solar cycle and quasi- biennial oscillation as well as the El-nino southern oscillation.

The research aims to study the effect of Seasonal variations in yields and qualities of agar seaweed Pterocladia capillacea. The results show that there is a clear impact of the Seasonal variations in the yield, physical and chemical properties of the extract agar. Agar yields ranging from 10.1 to 33.8% and has been the highest in the month of June and below 33.8% in December, 10.1% of the years 2014 to 2015. Reached the maximum value of the strength of the gel in June, 789 g/cm2 and the minimum value of 183 g/cm2 through December and the average rate of sulfates 3.42%. The viscosity values ranged between 35.7 and 81.4 cP, and recorded the highest value in July 81.4 cP. Melting temperature ranged 78- 86.5 °C and Gelling temperature from 35 to 25 °C.
In this study, trends of annual and seasonal precipitation time series for the period of (1971–2006) were analysed for three meteorological stations (Lattakia, Tartous and Safita) located in the coastal region of Syria, by linear regression and Spear man's rho tests. The results showed a decreasing trend of annual precipitation in Lattakia and Tartous stations and increasing trend in Safita station. At the seasonal time scale, a decreasing trends of winter precipitation in Lattakia station and of spring precipitation in all stations were observed. While an increasing trends of winter precipitation in Tartous and Safita stations and of autumn precipitation in all stations were observed. Although, all of these negative and positive linear trends, both at the annual and seasonal time scales are not statistically significant at 5% level, but they can have severe effects on water resources, rivers regimes and success of rain-fed crops in the study areas
This research focuses on identifying spatial and temporal variationsof the carbon dioxide system in the surface seawater of Tartouscityduring the period betweenspring and summer 2015.In Addition to the extent influenced by some hydrological propert ies of water (temperature and salinity) and the impact all of this on the pH of marine water values. The results showed low partial pressure of the carbon dioxide in seawaters (PCO2 sea) in the summercompared with spring, which is reflected on the air-sea flux values (FCO2), where CO2 released from surface seawater to the air in summer and incontradiction of that in the spring (0.0632mmol /m²/ day and -0.0715 mmol /m²/day, respectively). In spring, low temperature and salinity of the water (22.707-22.727C and 37.605-37.765‰ respectively), in addition to increased biological activity contributed in increasing the absorption of CO2 from the water. These leading to a decrease PCO2 sea (409.0- 429.5μatm) associated with low concentrations of all of the total inorganic carbon (2229.5- 2242.5μmol/kg) and total alkalinity (2588.873-2590.9μmol/kg). and as a result the surface sea waters become a reservoir of dioxide carbon atmospheric. In the summer, the rise in temperature and salinity of surface seawater (28.85- 29.60Cand38.15-38.60‰, respectively) and reduced biological activity all contributed to the decrease dissolved CO2 values and increase of PCO2 sea(437.5 - 453.5μatm) associated with increasing concentrations of each of the total inorganic carbon (2267.9 - 2296.0μmol/kg) and total alkalinity (2739.6 -2741.2μmol/kg).In this way the surface sea water is source of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
Bacterial distribution analysis of the atmospheric air of fourteen primary and sixteen secondary school classes at Ibb City in Yemen was performed during the period between February and May, ٢٠٠٢. The results indicated that bacteria grown on the b lood agar formed the highest numbers, followed those grown on nutrient agar, and finally on MacConkey agar. The average number of blood agar grown bacteria in nonventilated, semi-ventilated, and well--ventilated school classes were ٤٩٢, ٢٦٩, and ٢٤٦ cfu/٥٠ liters of air sample respectively. Primary schools showed a higher values of bacterial counts, compared to the secondary schools. The concentration of the bacteria inside the school classes was higher than those of school square. Inside the classes, in spite of approximate values of student per unit area, i.e. ٠,٦٤m٢, the total number of bacteria per cubic meter was observed to be inversely proportional with the class volume.
Drought is a recurrent phenomenon and a normal feature of climate. It is one of the major natural hazards that frequently hits Syria, causing significant damages to ecosystems and social–economic environment, especially agricultural areas. The purpo se of current study is to estimate the degree of severity and the frequency of drought at seasonal and annual timescales in the southern region of Syria by applying the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) on the rainfall data recorded over (1958-2006) in four climatic stations: Damscus, Khrabo, Dara and El-Sweda. The results showed that there were no significant changes or trends in annual winter and spring rainfall at southern region scale. They also showed its frequent exposure to drought. At annual timescale, Damscus and Khrabo stations were distinguished from the others by extreme drought, and Khrabo by severe drought. The season mostly exposed to drought events was spring, followed by winter and autumn seasons. The absence of the evere drought of Dara winter, and the extreme drought of Damscus and Khrabo autumn were also observed.
