This research was done to improve the local bitumen specifications 60-70 (Banias refinery output) using Cement Bypass DUST(CBPD) so that it becomes more resistant to high temperatures (Short- Term- Aging), in addition to reduce the harmful waste materials. The cement bypass was supplied by Tartous Cement Company and added to bitumen with different percentages namely, 12%, 14%, 16% and 18% (by the weight of bitumen). some experiments were held to determine the properties of modified and unmodified bitumen (Penetration )25, 15, 4(∁°- Ductility- Softening point), then We returned previous experiences after (Loss- on- heating test) and exposure to (Short- Term- Aging) on the modified and unmodified bitumen, and the results were within specification limits, were Compatible with previous reference studies and these additions have to improve the resistance of bitumen to high temperatures. The optimum cement Bypass Dust ratio was found to be 14% of the weight used bitumen.

A reliable and continuous supply of electrical energy is necessary for the functioning of today’s complex society. Because of the increasing consumption and the extension of existing electrical transmission networks and these power systems are oper ated closer and closer to their limits accordingly the possibilities of overloading, equipment failures and blackout are also increasing, furthermore, we have an additional obstacle which is that electrical energy cannot be stored efficiently, so, electrical energy should be generated only when it's needed. Due to the fact that world is facing a lack of oil reserves and the difficulties related to have alternative sources to generate electrical power, then, electrical load forecasting is considered as a crucial factor in electrical power system either from economical or technical point of view on both planning and operating levels. This research introduces a short term electrical load forecasting system by using artificial neural networks with a simulation in Matlab environment in addition to an interface for the system and all that is depending on previous load data and weather parameters in Tartous province.
This research was performed to improve the quality of Bituminous mixes, and improve the thermal resistance of the surface bituminous layer, the bitumen has a various changes, that which begins from the production of the bituminous mixture in high tem peratures, these changes continues to the phase of it's use. For this purpose, SBS(Styrene Butadien Styrene) was selected to be an improving material to bitumen according to the rate: 3.5% for SBS.in my research I work on modifying the local bitumen by adding the SBS so that the modified bitumen can be used to design bituminous mixes within the limits of bituminous mixes designed specifications, and improve it's thermal resistance. some experiments were held to determine the qualities of the modified and unmodified bitumen, befor and after Lose Of Heating, the results were within the specifications 'limits. According to Marshal's method, samples of Bituminous mixes were prepared for all Bituminous sorts used in our research. These samples were put under required tests, and samples were prepared according to an ideal rate of Bitumen. the result was the Bitumen modified by adding SBS improve the quality of Bitumen to thermal resistance.
The research discusses roads rehabilitation using foamed bitumen, which is a relatively new method and hasn’t been used in Syria yet due to the lack of the needed labrotory equipments ,and that’s why the main aim of the research is to develop a mo del to stimulate the labrotory experiments needed to evaluate the performance of the rehabilitated pavement (surface deflection – strain ). The model was developed using the finite elements method with the help of ABAQUS modelling software.
This research study the possibility using slag of hadeed Hamaa in cement industry as an additive to klinker in certain percentage instead of pozzolana which obtained from natural quarry in Suaedaa city and check the produced cement if it still hav e the stander of Portland cement or move to slag cement standard., this slag became a big problem due to the huge square occupied for disposal , and although the problems happened around the agricultural land escape .
This paper studies a practical laboratory research of the possibility of utilizing the natural resources available in the country, namely Basalt, which is available in large quantities in the southern region (Al-Suwayda) in order to demonstrate the extent to which it meets the requirements of standard specifications for use in the manufacture of (Reinforced) concrete by means of testing the resistance of pressure and tensile by splitting and the elasticity coefficient of hardened (rigid concrete) at Different ages (3-7- 28) days. As a result, pressure resistance tests increased by approximately 20 % with the maturating period progress of concrete mixtures. The pressure resistance of concrete mixtures prepared using basalt pebbles was approximately 18% higher than the pressure resistance of concrete formed usingcalcite(calcareous) pebbles in ages above 7 days There was also a slight decrease of 8% in the split tensile resistance of the studied samples prepared with basalt minerals , compared with the samples prepared using calcite (calcareous) pebble and this resistance increases over time . As for the elasticity coefficient , a 20% increase in the elasticity coefficient of the concrete was noticed with the maturating of the concrete mixtures compared to the referential mixture.
