A text’s poetic characteristic is what gives it its literary attribute .The poetic characteristic of a structural constituent is what gives it the main attribute amongst others. Scholars, therefore, are interested when attempting to identify the p oetic quality in tracing the technique, whose effective presence, along with its links to other set constituents, indicates that the studied text is distinguished for its poetic characteristic .Each artistic means, which is significant in indicating the implication of the text, is a poetic means. This is the paper’s hypothesis in illustrating the significance of contrast, relying upon a set of theoretical postulates, of which some are confined to linguistics, although they have their basis in Arab linguistic and rhetorical discourse. They help a scholar in drawing rhetorical conclusions, in the aftermath of examining the texts. As for the practical objective, the paper will try to make use of the theoretical postulates in dealing with one of al- Mutanabby’s texts, which are strikingly rich with contrasts: their abundance on the text's level. Thus , al-Mutanabby invested it [contrast] in weaving a network of relations linking the signified, whereby contrast is their main linking device, and the first controlling factor in directing them towards giving the text a consistent poetic structure.
This paper examines W.B. Yeats’s “Sailing to Byzantium” (1927) and William Blake’s “London” (1794) from a deconstructive critical perspective. Though the two poems belong to two different ages in the history of English poetry—the former is modern while the latter romantic—both can be quintessential examples of deconstructive criticism. The paper begins by discussing the meaning and significance of deconstruction in modern critical theory. It reveals to the reader an overview of deconstruction as a theory of reading texts. The paper, moreover, proceeds to examine how deconstruction can illuminate the above-mentioned poems by analysing their verbal contradictions in terms of meaning and structure. Under the scrutiny of deconstruction, these characteristics ultimately uncover the instability of literary language and meaning. This deconstructive reading of the two texts will allow the reader to gain a better understanding not only of the two poems but also of deconstruction as a literary theory.
The purpose of the research is to deepen the feeling of aesthetic entity of Arab poetry from moralities standpoint, that is the secret behind its immortality. and to affirm that the idiom of 'poets potency' by Alasmae is an aesthetic principle tal king about the make inside the poem, its uniqueness, characteristics and the effect of the poet on others who come later . This poem was chosen from the rest of his poetry as a measure of Alhadera's potency because of its uniqueness and characteristics . The research method: text induction by searching on proofs about poetry potency in this poem, if there is many we are satisfied with some samples which indicate others, so that we avoid extension ,boredom and increasing repetition towards one side. the comparison has been done between its entity and Thalaba Ebn Soaer Almazne poem entity (Does Amra have victuals of a traveler..) to show that there are similarities in some parts of the image and there is a difference inside the inner entity. The research is based on the entity of the poem, its structure method, creative characters and the causes of its uniqueness. The research results: the purpose has been achieved, we recognize the uniqueness of the poem in its structural method, poetical images and moveable scenes, also the specialty of the poet in creating the whole poem and how it affects other poets just with even a few of its aspects.

This paper seeks to discuss the question of divine retribution in Theogony, a Greek poem attributed to Hesiod (8th c. B.C.) It shows that divine retribution occurs in the wake of crimes, which brings about gods’ wrath in Greek mythology. Then it p roceeds to reveal this poet’s major purpose which consists in his conception of poetry as an educative tool, which reminds us of its time-honoured role as a public forum geared towards inculcating ethical values into its recipients.
