The aim of this study is to evaluate the epidemiology of viral hepatitis in children in Damascus University children hospital. A retrospective study on (259) cases of viral hepatitis admitted to hospital within 4 yrs from the beginning of 2000 to the end of 2003. The number of hepatitis A virus cases was (112) cases with an average of 2.9/ 1000 of admissions yearly. More than a half of cases were between 1-5 years of age. The most common symptoms and signs were jaundice, fever and hepatomegaly. About 76% of cases were cured or improved, 21.4% of them were died. For hepatitis B virus the number of cases was (42) cases with an average of 1.08/ 1000 of admissions yearly.
Background& Objective: clinical study of patients with Neurofibromatosis I (NFI) in children hospital – Damascus University Materials & Methods: All cases of Neurofibromatosis type I in children less than 13 years of age were identified from the r ecords in the Department of children, from 2000-2010 They were diagnosed according to a clinical symptoms (café au lait) then complete the diagnosis with appropriate diagnostic tools.

Patients and Methods : It was a case series study of )52( cases of Visceral Leishmaniasis which were hospitalized between June-20 31and June-2014 in Al -Assad University Hospital ,Latakia Results 52 7 7 children were included in this study .Majority of the patients (92%) presented with fever ,common findings in physical examination were(100%) Pallor and (97%) splenomegaly The direct investigation of parasite in Bone marrow was positive in )%55( of cases .
A retrospective study over 3 years was conducted in NICU of Damascus university to explain any change in the bacteriological profile of neonatal sepsis and to prove the need to change the treatment policy. This study was carried out on the neonate s admitted on NICU between 1/1/02 and 31/12/2004 who had the diagnosis of sepsis. We had the results of blood culture and the resistance report from the patients files and the archive of our bacteriological laboratory. we compared the results with chi square.
