CpG islands play an important role in genes transcription regulation, due to the fact that these islands overlap with the genes’ promoter regions, and the methylation of those CpG islands may repress the transcription of the associated genes. Previous studies reported that methylation of CpG islands is an important indicator of the presence and possibility of developing cancers. There are mainly two types of algorithms to identify CpG islands in the nucleotides sequences: distance-based and sliding-window algorithms. The outputs of these algorithms are different for the same nucleotide sequence. The aim of this study is to compare the performance of the above mentioned algorithms by using two web tools named CpGCluster and newCpGReport. CpG islands in human chromosome 22 were identified by applying the two algorithms on this chromosome, and the variation in the number and length of the identified islands was clear. The results also show that about 60% of both tools’ output is crossed. Moreover, the effect of the traditional parameters of CpG islands (length, C+G content and Observed/expected ratio) on the number of the identified islands was studied. The results show that the length parameter has a great effect on the number of islands identified by newCpGReport, while it does not affect CpGCluster’s performance. The effect of making CpG islands identified by newCpGReport start and end with CpG was also studied, due to this operation C+G content and Observed/expected ratio increased for most islands, taking into account that 25% of the islands became shorter than 200 nucleotides.

The ability of data mining to provide predictive information derived from huge databases became an effective tool in the hands of companies and individuals، allowing them to focus on areas that are important to them from the massive data generated by the march of their daily lives. Along with the increasing importance of this science there was a rapidly increasing in the tools that produced to implement the theory concepts as fast as possible. So it will be hard to take a decision on which of these tools is the best to perform the desired task. This study provides a comparison between the two most commonly used data mining tools according to opinion polls، namely: Rapidminer and R programming language in order to help researchers and developers to choose the best suited tool for them between the two. Adopted the comparison on seven criteria: platform، algorithms، input/output formats، visualization، user’s evaluation، infrastructure and potential development، and performance by applying a set of classification algorithms on a number of data sets and using two techniques to split data set: cross validation and hold-out to make sure of the results. The Results show that R supports the largest number of algorithms، input/output formats، and visualization. While Rapidminer superiority in terms of ease of use and support for a greater number of platforms. In terms of performance the accuracy of classification models that were built using the R packages were higher. That was not true in some cases imposed by the nature of the data because we did not added any pre-processing stage. Finally the preference option in any tool is depending on the extent of the user experience and purpose that the tool is used for
In this paper we present a study of ZnS thin films thermally deposited on glass substrates, with different optical thicknesses. On topography micrographs and feature parameters obtained by Atomic Force Microscope, we pursued the islands formation and growing in ZnS thin films even on the same optical thickness of the film. For doing so, we analyzed the micrographs surface, using Watershed Segmentation and Wolf pruning that allow the detection of significant features on surfaces, Grain sorting operator and Parameter Distribution Study.
This research aims at studying two different translations of D. H. Lawrence‟s Women in Love, and comparing these two translations in terms of the strategies followed by the translators and the problems that faced them during translation. One of th ese two translations is by the Iraqi researcher and translator Amjad Housien, and the other one is by the Syrian researcher and critic Hana Abboud.
Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the weight of debris and irrigant that extruded apically during the preparation of root canal system using standardized technique, hand ProTaper, and rotary universal ProTaper. Materials and Methods: The sample was consisted of 30 single rooted teeth, with single canal and apical foramen, the working length was standardized and the access cavity prepared, each tooth was fixed with ruper stopper in glass vial contains agar 1.5% to simulate the periapical tissue. And the vial was fixed in a bigger vial to eliminate any unneccesry contact with the apparatus. The first vial was weighted before and after preparation. The sample was randomly divided into three groups, group A Standardized technique, B Hand ProTaper PTH , C Universal ProTaper PTU. Result: The three techniques caused apically extruded debris and irrigants, with statically significance between Standarized technique and Hand ProTaper(P= 0.024) while the first caused more debris and irrigants extrusion, also Universal ProTaper caused more extrusion than Hand ProTaper with statically significance (p= 0.050), but there was no significant differences between Standarized technique and Universal ProTaper P>0.05. Conclusion: Under the condition of this study, it can be concluded that both hand and rotary preparation technique will cause apical extrusion of debris and irrigants. And PTH was the least causing of apically extrusion.
