Aim of Study : The objective of this study was to compare the shaping ability of
ProTaper Rotary instruments(Universal,Next) ,Hand ProTaper instruments and traditional
hand instruments in long oval-shaped root canals.
Methods and materials: Forty
human teeth with long oval-shaped root canals were
sectioned at one level in the apical third far 3 mm at the apical root . A modified Bramantetechnique
was used and analyzed changes in root canal in surface area (ΔA), under (10)
magnification. Where the sample was divided into four subgroups each one contains
(N=10) teeth and prepares by one of the four instrumentation systems. The morphological
changes were analyzed by software Program (Auto Cad 2013).
Aim: to compare the shaping ability of two rotary systems (Protaper Universal and
Protaper Next) and K-file hand instruments in curved root canals of extracted human
molars.
Materials and methods:Thirty extracted molars with curved canals were cho
sen. The
curvature of root canals was determined (15-40o) then the sample was randomly divided
into three groups: n1=n2=n3=10. Group(1): was prepared using K-file hand instruments
(Stand), group(2): prepared by Protaper Universal (PTU), whereas group3: prepared by
Protaper Next (PTN).The curvature after preparation and Time preparationwere evaluated.
Data were collected and statistical analysis was conducted.
Results: The three instrument systems (PTU, PTN, Stand) have caused significant
change in original canal curvature(P<0.05). On the other hand, there were no significant
differences between systemsin straightening of canal curvature (P>0.05). However, both
systems: PTN, Stand were significantly faster than PTU during preparation of curved
canals (P<0,001).Conclusion: under the conditions of this study, it can be concluded
thatall instruments caused changing in original canal curvature. However, the new
generation PTN was faster than old one PTU.
Aim of the study was To Compare the efficiency of R
ProTaper and R-Endo retreatment files in the removal of
conventional gutta-percha and resin coated gutta-percha and
time required. 60 extracted single root premolars were selected,
and then divi
ded into two groups according to the obturation
material. Next, each group was divided into two groups
according to the methods of retreatment.
Aim of Study: The objective of this study was to compare the shaping ability of
ProTaper Rotary instruments (Universal, Next), Hand ProTaper instruments and traditional
hand instruments in long oval-shaped root canals.
Methods and materials: Forty
human teeth with long oval-shaped root canals were
sectioned at 3 levels in the coronal, middle and apical third. A modified Bramante technique
was used and analyzed changes in root canal maximum buccolingual and mesiodistal
canal dimensions (ΔBL ,ΔMD) and changes in surface area (ΔA) , under (10X) magnification.
Where the sample was divided into four groups each one contains (N=10) teeth and
prepares by one of the four instrumentation systems. The morphological changes were
analyzed by software Program (Auto Cad 2013).
Aim:
The aim of this study was to compare the weight of debris and irrigant that extruded
apically during the preparation of root canal system using standardized technique, hand
ProTaper, and rotary universal ProTaper.
Materials and Methods:
The
sample was consisted of 30 single rooted teeth, with single canal and apical
foramen, the working length was standardized and the access cavity prepared, each tooth
was fixed with ruper stopper in glass vial contains agar 1.5% to simulate the periapical
tissue. And the vial was fixed in a bigger vial to eliminate any unneccesry contact with the
apparatus. The first vial was weighted before and after preparation.
The sample was randomly divided into three groups, group A Standardized
technique, B Hand ProTaper PTH , C Universal ProTaper PTU.
Result:
The three techniques caused apically extruded debris and irrigants, with statically
significance between Standarized technique and Hand ProTaper(P= 0.024) while the first
caused more debris and irrigants extrusion, also Universal ProTaper caused more extrusion
than Hand ProTaper with statically significance (p= 0.050), but there was no significant
differences between Standarized technique and Universal ProTaper P>0.05.
Conclusion:
Under the condition of this study, it can be concluded that both hand and rotary
preparation technique will cause apical extrusion of debris and irrigants. And PTH was the
least causing of apically extrusion.
This study aimed to asses of role of obturation material (zinc oxide and eugenol
cement with gutta-percha points, Resilon) on the efficiency of endodontic retreatment with Pro-taper
system of the following respects: the degree of cleanliness of the
canal, complications, working time.
